After reading about the Randy 2 part its pretty clear although some questions did come to mind and so if anyone can help me that would be great

1. He suggests u mix with a gallon of water..although he didnt mention it.... de-chlorinate the water first right? Then when he talks about mixing the magnesium he says to mix with purified freshwater?...does he mean like RO water?

2. For the Magnesium recipe he says to mix with epsom salts?...sorry iam not familiar with these......can anyone please point me in the right direction?.....where to buy epsome salts?....what brand?

Use RO water to mix all three into. Epsom salts can be found at any pharmacy or wally world.

While out picking up Epsom you can buy RO water. It gets expensive to do this but would work upfront.

ATI Blue + x 3
ATI Aqua Blue x 5

Hello, quick question. I started dosing vodka about a mounth ago for about 3 weeks and started getting this redish slime with some crazy algae groth. I stoped with the vodka. 2 weeks ago I started dosing with MB7, thinking I should start this first before I start back up with the vodka. Problem is its been 2 weeks now and nitrates havent droped, still have some red slime but not as much and algae is still there. Nitrates Still at 30 ppm.. I have a kinda deep sand bed at about 3.5 inches. Should I wait untill my nitrates drop untill I start back up with the vodka??? I've been trying to keep SPS for a year now with little growth, any help would be great. Oh and Sunny you have a georgous tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :beer:

Sonny, I'm doing my own version of a Bacteria system. I have a 180g SPS reef and I'm dosing:

Phol's Xtra: 4ml/day
MB7: 10 drops/day
Coral Vitalizer: 8 drops/day
Biofuel: 8ml/day
Zeo Amino Acids: 3 drops/day
Sponge Power: 8 drops/day
Lugol's: 1 drop/day

My green SPS are ok, but I can't get the blues to pop. For instance I have a green cap that supposed to have a blue edge, and you can hardly see the blue. I thought the Lugol's would help, but it hasn't. Any ideas?

Probably still gonna be a little too white for ya.

The AquaScience 22k and ATI Blue Plus look nearly identical. No need to use both IMO.

Go to the T5 Q&A Thread and ask Grim for a reco. Or just add another Blue Plus to Sonny's combo and use that.

I would not recommend it. I know its hard to see now but an ro/di system is going to be extremely beneficial to your tank. You have probably already learned but this hobby gets expensive quick. If you plan on staying in the hobby for a while an ro/di system is a must have.

i think that would be a better bet id drop one of the 22k for a Blue+ i have both and well to get the slight benefit of the 22k you only need one in the mix i tried it with one and two and there is practically no difference...

as for the fiji purple its basically a white bulb with a red/pink tint so if you like it cool if want more blue then swap it for another blue+ and you are set.

the bulbs that are causing your yellow issues are the GE's IMO so any setup without them will be less yellow.

Wonderfully tank, been my inspiration for my new rimless zeo tank o am just setting up, quick question.. Did you rinse your special grade reef sand before using, I have the same sand and it is giving me cloudy silt/dust problems.

I rinsed it in 5bucket loads of ro water but it is still covered in silt.
