There only one problem with what you did is if somthing in the tank like 110v gets exsposed in water and you stick your had in the tank you just completed a circuit . You wont get a shock but you will be electrocuted and the voltage wont let go .
Thats the problem with making ground probes.
hmm...no hands in the tank then. I have everything plugged to a surge protector so wouldnt it trip if that were to happen? The original stray current was just a small tingle kinda like a 9V battery.
Good way to test true friendship lol!...(I i had different people put there hand in the sump to confirm it was good, wasnt sure if my hand were just numb LOL.)...
