Sore on clown grouper

I have a clown grouper that has a sore on the side of his mouth and it darts in the sand and seems to have a hard time staying at the bottom. Still eating normally only had it a month and it is 7-8"

It now seems to eat less. It's interested in food but then decides not to eat

it will swim to the bottom and position the cut against the sand and dart off rubbing it seems to get bad then better day to day
