Spawning clams! (A snowstorm in October?)

This morning as I was getting into my first lesson with the students, I noticed the Damsel out of the corner of my eye zigzagging and "gasping". Well, the gasping was him eating the snowstorm that just erupted in my tank.

I had no idea what caused it, but about 20 minutes later, I see the clams contracting and sending out clouds of eggs...the damsel going crazy eating it.

The tank had the snowstorm for about an hour(that I obsered) before all the suspended particles finally settled, were filtered, or eaten.

So what do I do next? A couple big water changes? I've read some other old posts and people suggested it could be a bad thing they spawned...but no one follows up to say their clam died.

Here is a pic of the 2 larger ones that spawned. I have a smaller clam (3-4") but didn't notice anything from it.

This is an older pic...the clam on the right has gained lots of color back in the center since I added 6x54w T5's. I would say they are both 5+ inches.

Yeah, you'll want to get the water cleaned as much as possible- wter changes, carbon, maybe even a diatom filter if possible. Regarding the clams in the pics, its good to hear the one is regaining pigment, but the one on the left looks like it has pinched mantle. Does it still look like this?

No, They both extend equally and look healthy. Since they are close to the front glass, they twitch a little bit when I get close (sensitivity to light in the room).
