Special Winter Frag Event with That Fish Place: Jan. 31, 11 AM-4 PM

Actually, people keep saying they've remodeled, I think it may be behind the fish room.

Talked with them today, and some last minute notes for anyone still reading: They'll have people at the front door directing everyone to the right spot, and also tagging some of the stuff people bring in so there's no confusion with TFP goods. Also, and this is pretty neat, they are setting up an area of styrofoam bins outside the fish room so people can shop for livestock during the swap, have it bagged up, but then just store it in those bins until you are ready to go. This way you can shop during the swap, but all the live stuff won't have to go sit in your car until the end of the event.

The TFP folks know that things will be kind of chaotic for the first hour during registration, but then it should settle down and it will be easy to go in and out, shop, etc. Let's have fun!

That sounds nice, but im bringing a cooler to put my stuff in im guessing this is allowed correct. If so and i want to do some shopping for some dry goods there am i allowed to carry the cooler with me or how is that going to be. Any ideas.

you will be fine with a cooler.they are just trying to stop people from taking corals from the store without paying basically.the swap area will have people with coolers all over the place.

Yeah, no problem with your cooler with your frags, or purchased frags, in the swap. Goods from the store will not be allowed into the swap area, so if you buy dry goods you need to take it out to your car. The idea is just that if you are buying livestock you can store it in their bins until you are ready to go. Then put it in whatever you want in your car. This is designed on their part to make it easy for people to shop whenever they want, and it's a great idea.

Awesome event!!! Great fun. I am looking forward to hearing from everyone who got corals from me.

Let me know how they make the journey!

Nice to see you all and meet some new people.

I hope to see you all in spring.

It was a really good event - my first local event (sorta local since I'm from Baltimore). I enjoyed the speakers especially Dave's talk about about lighting and Ike on aquarium energy costs. Well worth the trip up.

I did some shopping too (great store) especially since I won one of the tanks in the raffle (the Cardiff - what a cool tank). I guess I'll have to start a tank thread on this one now :) I need to get it setup so I can get some coral frags at the next one!

Thanks again!

Holy crowded houses batman!!

For those of you lurking on this thread that didn't go....FOOLS! :) What was the count...300+?

Anyway...thanks guys/gals of NCPARS and TFP for a great event. I really hope they invite the club back. Next time I hope I'll have a wet tank to actually do more than drool.

Thanks for a great event. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. We were able to get alot of wonderful frags. Hope you plan to do this again next year. We reallly want to try to get to the swap up there.

great to put faces to names.

Hope everybody had a safe trip home.

I have made it home safe and my frags as well! Thanks to everyone who helped out and who attended this great swap. I also hope we can do this again. What a great way to pull hobbyists from all over. I know we had MD, WV, NJ, NY, PA, and probably many more! Great location and host location (TFP).

I have to figure out how to get the photos that Brad's family has taken into a slide show and then I will post them. SOOOO many happy faces!!! ;)

I hope all of you who have attended and those of you who have missed this one for any reason makes the trip to PSU in April; I hope you all can come and make it as successful and productive swap as this one has been! If I had more than 2 thumbs they would all be UP!!!!

If any of you would like to get involved and help out with anything at our spring swap, please let one of us know!!!! We can use all the help we can get!!!!

Scott B (DSB) Great work!!! You and all who have participated in the planning deserve a vacation for the hours spent working with TFP on this swap.

Everyone should keep an eye on the threads, the NCPARS donations thread for the Spring swap will becoming more active and updates on donations progress for the swap; they are sure to happen quickly as well. I know we will be posting the maps and reservations/payment info on that for everyone too.

Any suggestions for the upcoming spring swap?

I know we already have Pizza Hut planned for our lunch and it's an all inclusive meal with desert!!!! Pasta, Pizza, soda, salad, and more!

See you all soon!!
