Special Winter Frag Event with That Fish Place: Jan. 31, 11 AM-4 PM

Yes. My daughter will be with too so I don't know how long we'll be there, but we'll be down.

Once my tank is setup again I'll get back into this, but I took a year+ off to get the house, new kid, etc. all settled and right now I don't have the cash to get back into it right so I'm doing it piece by piece.

It pains me to see the 240g of air in my living room everyday. :)

Question....

I was going to pay my 2009 dues on the website and figured I'd throw in the swap fees as well, but I wasn't sure what to pay.

Since I'll be dragging my wife and kid in tow I figured I'd just signup for a family membership, but then I didn't know how many $5 member entry fees to sign up for. Do I pay just 1 for the family, or 2 for both my wife and I or do I need to pay for 3 so my not-yet-2 year old can get in? :)

Thanks.

No Tunze products???
I did not believe it either!
Wanted to take advantage of the coupon!
Need more flow...Anyone using the Vortech?

Thanks
Ed

Really i have the gen 1 vortechs, but replaced the magnet to the gen 2 and i still need to get my drivers programed to the gen 2. I love the vortechs never had any problems and are doing great.

Mine burned out twice. The first one stopped a week after purchase, and the second stopped at 1 month of use. Sent them back for repairs. When they returned one burned out the same day, so thats when I decided to sell them. Maybe I just had 2 bad models, not sure, but turned me off for sure.

EDIT: I do have to say though, when they were working, they really do push a lot of water.

You are not alone there rick, the failure rate on them is quite evident when you do some research.I know of 5 people that own them and 3 of the 5 had them fail within the first year.here are a couple threads i found from a quick search.

I hate to hijack this trend ... but what do you think of the tunze wavebox instead of the tunze powerheads (or will power heads still be needed with a wave box?)

Thanks
Ed

no problem on the hijack.I have no personal experience with the wave box but from what i have read and the chatting i have done with people that run them, they are a quality piece of equiptment like most of the tunze products.I dont think you can cover all your bases for flow with one but in combination with a couple streams they are awesome.

Thanks Dan

I have corner overflows and have heard the wavebox works best with a center overflow. I have to do something about the flow. Only have 2 Hydro Koralia 4's in the 180 and in the tank with a turkey baster every second day! Just trying to find a deal on some used tunze w/a controller(who isn't right).

BTW:

The corals from you are doing great...look forward to getting more (hope the wife doesn't read this).
You are the best. See you at the swap.

Thanks again
Ed

Thanks Ed,I am glad the corals are doing well.growing corals out from frags to colonies amd then fragging them so they can grow out and start the cycle again in another tank is the part of the hobby i get the most pleasure from. The Tunze 6101 streams have been replaced by the new generation streams which look like the old nano streams but larger.the 6105 is the replacement and comes with the magnet mount so you save a bit by not needing a magnet to mount them but they are a little more expensive then the old 6101'S.You are right in saying you can use more flow and a couple 6105's with a multi crontroller would be a nice addition.

I am not sure if I can attend the swap but would like to know whether I can reserve a space and showing off some of my LEDs.

I will be donating couple of my Wingo Moonlights, going or not. Please lmk how to get in touch with the right person for the donations and reservations of a table.

Please use email WingoAgency@yahoo.com and phone 347 739 2411 as I rarely log on RC.

Can some one point to nearest airport/transportation as I will be coming either directly from Kansas or flying to New York City and then car pool with someone to Lancaster.

Thanks
Wingo LED
