Spiny's SPS garden

Not sure what you are doing but whatever it is you have to keep it up, change nothing!

Nice work

Thanks Dwayne. I hear your corals are making their way into Quebec through Burc. Lots of satisfied customers!

I just learned reef farmers is selling this coral at 150$ for a 1/2" frag as "purple dragon eyes"... some people have too much money. That said, I'll gladly undersell them 125$ for 1/2", anyone? (kidding). Vlad, did you ever know you were sitting on a gold mine with you "ghostly-tips"?

That is too funny. I guess I was severely underselling my frags as well. I have 3 large frags and a mother colony growing out right now. Its a spectacular coral, and very hardy too.

love this piece too (thanks spiny, and Vlad !)

Thanks for sharing all these great pics. Love the dimensions of your tank, a tad shallow, but hey, look at your coral growth!

<3 Love those millies. I wish I can come by and get a few snips back. Most of mine died with the AEFW infestation. Learned my lesson the hard way. Quarantine will save you every time.

I hardly believe you need me to get nice frags in your system; you're within driving distance of the best LFS in Canada, not to mention Darryl and Dwayne!

I did some major clean-up in my tank. The birdnests got chopped big time, so did some of my acroporas that underwent intense fragging operation for a frag swap we had yesterday (big success!). My acquisition are however not fit of this forum since they're mostly zoas and LPS. I used to occasion to rid of some mini-colonies that weren't colorful enough for my liking. As it turns out, the right side of my tank is now pretty much just frags and mini-colonies, while the left side is pretty much all small and medium colonies. So here are pictures of the left side! The right side is still a couple of months away from being photogenic. That said, when it is, it will be a bewt! All my named corals went to that side. Go red planet go... stop encrusting already!

It was my pleasure. I'll have quite a couple of corals that should be ready to be fragged for the next GT, so we'll have interesting trades to make! The undata is a stunning piece, but it's the supergrape that'll make you go wow. Give it time, mine was ugly for a year before it got pretty, granted it was getting stung by aiptasia back then, so it might not be as long for you. You can catch a glimpse of it in the last picture.

What do you have for flow? Mp40?

Yes, I have 2x MP40 in the front and 2x koralia 1400 in the back. I recently noticed the koralias were heavily clogged and I think the low flow affected the color of some of my corals. I fixed this now, so I'll see shortly if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

Beautiful Spiny, simply beautiful.

It´s coming along very nice. Those millies and the desalwii are jaw dropping.

I think it would be really cool if you would post the right side also in the present time for some growth comparison shots in a couple of months. Evolution is something I personally appreciate, rather than post only the final product. IMO, it´s an act that has much more credit.
