Spiny's SPS garden

Hey spiny reef
We have very similar tank set up I also use vodka and two part dosing, I also have MH 400 watt with T12 150 watt actincs. What bulbs are you using and how long do you keep them on/off ?
The only differance between your tank and mine is yours is stunning and mine ,,,,,well give it a year LOL
Thanks and please keep the pictures rolling

Very nice

stunning tank and great photos!

This is a great tank :)

Stunning corals.

Beautiful display mate, look forward to seeing and reading more of your setup. :)

Thank you for the comments! I plan on keeping the pictures coming as the coral grow. Hopefully I can affort a macro lens and a good tripod at some point.

Great tank, really like the size it's what I'm hoping to move at some point.

I DIY'd this tank to have these dimensions.. however it's still too small!!!

Is that first yellow one from me? If not i have the same one.
Love that last one too.... Looking good.

I got that piece from a dealer in Montreal who sold it as a poison Ivy, but it looks way closer to the wolverine (the guy has connections with RR). At purchase it was black with bright yellow tips. I'm letting it grow in its current spot then I'll cut a couple of frags to scatter over my tank to see if I can get that coloration back.

Oooh is that purple dragon eyes?

I'm not sure which one you're talking about. The blue top one was sold to me as "blue dragon" but that was before the whole Dragons craze, so I think the seller just named it himself. The delicate pinkish one with green tips came from Atomikk. He named it "ghostly tips"; a very amazing piece which looks unreal at night under actinic lighting.

Don't worry, you'll get there in time! For the MH, I use 250w phoenix bulbs in lumenmax elite reflectors. I though going 400w, but these reflectors are really spotlights; they beam the light in a 15"x15" area, compared to the usual 24"x24" of the other reflectors. I think 400w would be overkill. The bulbs are getting old anyways, just buying new bulbs later this month should give growth a little kick. I supplement the MH with 1xt5 and 90 cree 3w LEDs. It's not so much supplementing as filling in the blind spots because of my tank's irregular dimensions. I keep the MH and LEDs on for roughly 8h with an extra 4h of actnic only lighting (for viewing pleasure) with 12x 1w LEDs.

Negative, that's either A. Desalwi or A. Plana

Here's my A. Horrida. (also seen on the 3rd picture in the first post of this thread)

Sweet....i love seeing my babies grow up. Your doing a great job with them. If that northern delight get enough light and growing fast it get these super bright light blue growth tips.

Thanks and keep those updates coming..

I love how random that coral is. It randomly grows a couple of green polyps and branches and alternates the color of its tips. A very curious specimen...

Zero nitrates... That's crazy... You don't have that Zeo look a all.... That's great growth for ULNS ....
