Spooted new creature

I decided since some of my corals won't/can't thrive under the high light, that I would make my 12 gallon cube into a reef tank. Everything so far is reaching high and growing. Tonight, before I turned the light off, I noticed some very small ant-like creatures, with ant-like feelers, all over the clam shell the star polyps are on and 2 or 3 on one of the mushrooms. What are these and are they good or bad?

I'm confused

I'm confused

What do you mean "Spooted"? Did you mean pooted or spoted or pooted after you spoted...This salt thing is confusing enough for me...We missed you last night.. Hey I forgot...I got a new frag from the Comas frag tank and I think it came from you...A real pretty maroon frilly mushroom...it looks good!

Spooted, how funny!! I even reviewed my message and I missed that mistake. I meant spotted. :o

I love the frilly mushroom, and so do my clowns. Also, it grows pretty fast.

I'll be at next months meeting and maybe we can go out for those burgers you were talking bout.

little more detail Marsha,

color, etc.... probably pods

pods are good

gws, I don't know what they are so I will look them up while I'm sitting in boring arraignments. Thanks!

If you want to see them disappear, get a sixline wrasse, if you don't allready have one. Sixline's are also good at controlling unwanted pests. Just make sure it can't jump out. It's not a matter of if it jumps out, but when it jumps out.

he speaks the truth! Mine took 6 months then went carpet surfing

I had a six line but it disappeared and I really don't want any fish in my 12 gallon, only corals. If the pods are good and won't harm anything, then I won't catch em' and feed em' to my neighbors across the street. :o

Marsha, if you ever need any hood parts for your 12, LMK, I have several extra fans, and the entire stock lighting setup removed from my hood, my PC bulbs are old and pretty much worthless, but the ballast is not even a year old yet since I replaced it last mid-April. It has the older style quick-connect plugs on the ballast-box, but I am familiar with wiring it up if yours ever dies.

Greg, the fans have gone out on this one, so how much $ do you want for yours?

Got a question for you. Can a skimmer be placed in the sump? The reason I ask is, I want to sell this new light and use my original lights and the glass tank top doesn't fit with the sump in the DT.

Greg, how bout the stock size?

I was typing while avoiding the man knocking at my door, so let me try this again. :o

The old lights have to sit on the glass top and my problem is, the skimmer in the DT prevents the glass from fitting properly. So, can the skimmer be placed in the sump or should I just take the glass and have it cut down?

Stock size it is. And FYI, keep an eye open on nanotuners.com, specifically, the UVL PC-R bulbs. Internal reflector, so more of the light that would otherwise be blocked by the bulb itself will now end up in the tank where it can do some good. Kinda pricey, but may be worth it when you replace bulbs in your NC12.

Marsha, shoot me a pm sometime, to work out where we can meet so I can give you the fans. Unfortunately, my schedule precludes me from doing anything during the week and on some saturdays other than sleep and work, my "evenings" are after midnight.
