Pipefitters wanted $1350 + Table and cheir rental (Unless we have a member in the club ) , but I will try the IBEW, and Left a message for Skyview.....It has to be close to Hectors right? Like between Mapleside and his shop right? I'm sure I've driven by it a hundred times.

It is almost next to Mapleside to south. It was originaly intended to be a ski slope like brandywine but never really got off the ground. Has that million dollar view though.

Grafton isn't off any major highway though. Kind puts a damper on that.
Location,
Size and electric

All 3 need to be met IMO

What did we pay last year? Has there been some massive increase or are we just looking to save some money? I didn't realize we used so much space!

I believe we paid around the 800 mark. I think the need for a new place was based on the electrical issues we had and how some of the vendors or vendor dealt with that plus it did get cramped for awhile in there. It seems the Cleveland swap grows a llitle bit every year, were pushing on the 400 mark now for people attending so I think a large more equipped room is what the new board is shooting for. I have no doubts the club will find a great new venue for us, especially starting this early looking for one

I believe the hall costs us $500 for the day including electric, tables and chairs, setup and tear down. Incendintals costs for 300-400 wristbands and raffle tickets are the only additional expenses. The biggest problem with the hall has been the electrical which they are supposed to be upgrading. Parking is ample if people just use thier heads and use the office building parking adjacent to the hall parking. As we are seeing other venues are coming in at a higher cost than what we have been paying for the American Legion hall. When we had the swap at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville the club almost went into the hole with all the costs we incurred, fortunatly that was not the case and we made some money though not a lot. As Eric said this event is what pays for the operation of C-SEA throught the year.

I believe a lot of the electrical problems can be eliminated if people leave the Metal Halides at home for the day or at least limit them to 150-175 watt. It is only a 4 hour show and your corals will survive without being under MH lights. A couple of T5 flouresents or 150 DE metal halides will work just fine. JMO

The first year at the strongsville holiday in swap the club made 1800. Not in the hole by a long shot. FYI

Im positive on that number as I was going to front all the money myself and have the swap, but asked C-sea to get involved. C-sea almost decided not to and look were it is today :)

The scare was the amount of the room they quoted us changed at the last minute. The board was all in a up roar as they should of been, afraid they were going to lose money, and they didn't

Why not just say that in the rules for the 2009 swap meet?
Vendors included...........

I like the idea of restricting electrical use. If we stayed put and lived with the shortcomings, we could improve other areas. Given the reluctance by vendors to donate items for the raffle in recent years, it may be necessary for the club to invest a little more in that aspect to ensure decent draw at the door.

Why bright Halides anyways...It's not like your trying to grow frags at the swap anyways...Do like zepplin does, bring Enough light to show off the colors and call it good.

I Agree. I think people like them because you can mount them higher to allow easier viewing of their tanks. However, a few T5 actinics should be plenty sufficient.

I don't think the club needs that cut though :) we've been on 5k cruise control for a few years. Jeff Can attest to what a big bank in a club can do

Erik, we already split up what was left over and blew it on booze and strippers... man that was a great time.

Now we need fundraisers so we can do it again. :celeb1:
