My colony is directly under a 250w MH pendant. The top of colony is 12" from pendant and bottom 22" away. The color appears to be better further down the colony. It is not exactly in direct path of any jets, but I have 3 fully powered Vortech MP40s (reef crest) in my 150gal. I think that's pretty sufficient flow right now.
