SPS corals browing from bottom up

I have never had RTN or STN they are just very dull and lose their color from the bottom up. I never really feed much before but have started feeding my corals last week 2 times per week.

It takes a while for corals to show improvement from feeding but it may help so you'll find out! What are you feeding them? Hope it works out well!

I have been feeding every three days a mix of phyto feast, frosen cyclops, and oyster feast. I am also testing my phosphates every three days making sure the extra feeding doesnt spike the phosphate level to quick

When SPS browning, first three things I usually check are 1) not enough light? 2) NO3/PO4 too high? or 3) something else cause thick zooxanthellae.

Your light system and NO3/PO4 seems ok to me, do you still see PE on these SPS?
since you have relatively strong lights, so if SPS feeding not enough, then zooxanthellae may grow over to provide enough nutrition to SPS.

Above just my guess, hope don't mind.

Thank you for sharing so we can learn thing together.

I barely ever have polyp extension but all the corals seem to be growing at a decent rate. The corals do seem to be coloring up a bit since I Bhutto egan feeding them.

That is an excellent news. May I suggest this....Once you solve the problem, maybe also figure out why not seeing PE, especial if you not even able to see after light off. I almost see all my SPS PE either light on or off, if not both.

Something you may want to consider is pests. no pe and the coral receeding from the base up Leeds me to believe this may be the problem. if the coral is pale I would think a nutrient / feeding issue. I would dip and frag off the dead chunks.

Does the AEFW usually attack from the bottom because on the couple of frags I have the base encrusting is the most healthy looking piece of the coral.

No offense intended, but does "Bhutto egan feeding them" mean "began feeding them"?

I have the same situation as you have in one of my tanks and have been following this very interesting thread for a possible solution.

Thanks!

Thanks I have already done alot of reading on it and have got some on the shelf. From what ive read you do a 5-15 minute dip in 5-15 ml bayer to 1 cup tank water then rinse well in tank water before putting back in tank. Should I take all the SPS or just the acros.
