Sps Light intensity Help

Hi everyone, im starting a new sps tank with my 40 gallon breeder. i have a single 250w metal halide with a coraline ballast shining phenoix 14k bulb 6 inch off the top of my water. my question is, are the light too intense for my sps since its a low dimension tank ( 36L x 18W x 16H) ?

Negative, your fine. I doubt your PAR is over 300 6 inches down. IMO, a perfect light for that tank.
