The purpose of this post is to post/display your favorite SPS and macro shots. Please add a name to the corals and share tip and tricks on taking macro pics. I am still learning how to use the 100mm lens but here are a few if mine. I will add more as time goes on.

Thanks!

These pictures was taken at f2.8,100MM Macro lense. Using DPP the image was post processed using the dropper tool for wb, increasing the brightness .83 and sharpness 2.

Nikon d7000 105 mm macro by nikon with VR II

I shoot tripod mounted all lights on set white balance to 10k and use either the shutter timer or the remote control for shutter release to eliminate movement I hardly ever shoot wide open at 2.8 most of my shots are at f11 or f16 that way I can get more of the coral in focus 2.8 is very shallow.

I agree with Franky, 2.8 is too wide an aperture generally speaking, except for the odd shot where you want a shallow DOF such as honing in on a single polyp or other isolated subject.

Better already try turning the pumps off & bump your iso to like 400 or 640 so that u can get a faster shutter speed too help minimize motion blur
