SPS Shallow Reef Tank Build Thread

Forgot to mention. I switched from a Tunze 6025 to a Tunze 6045...We're tunze addicts around here.. :D

So now i have a 6055 dialed down on a controller and the 6045 running solo..

Any more updates?
How do you like the 6055s as far as flow goes?
Im trying to decide between 2 6055s or a single 6101 for my 2x2x2, what do you think?

cpreefguy: I have a 2x2x2; go with the 2x 6055's on a controller. I have the exact same thing and love them, it is DEFINTELY enough flow.

Sorry guys i haven't updated. Im waiting for my RO unit to get here tomorrow. Mix a batch of saltwater. I have the sand and rock ready to go! I will post pics as soon as the tank is full and settled. Then its the waiting game :(

UPDATE!

Ok, mixing water.. sand is in.. FINALLY getting filled tomorrow after all these months of planning!! Just going to cycle for a few weeks..maybe use some biospira like i have done in the pass to speed up the process. Here are some pictures of todays action.

wow, looking very nice. Great to see it finally set up. The 12k's looks so good in these pictures. More bluer than I assumed.

Is it just me, or are the dimensions of the tank weird? I have a 240 which is 96x24x24. Yours looks much wider then mine, which I would have definately liked for aquascaping purposes.

Great thread so far. I just thought I would introduce myself here. I just did a search for shallow reefs to inspire me for my latest project. I am doing a 240g 96"x24"x16"h inwall sps reef tank. I thought all people would think I am crazy but see I found others that like shallow reefs. Here are a few pics of my new project tank. It will probaly be 6 months to a year before it is fully running.

Looking forward to seeing your tank full.

The tank is sitting on it's side in the pic.

Thanks Zooz..i really like the crisp color of the 12Ks.. I had really good luck with them on my previous setup so im sure this time wont be any different..:D

Im having a real hard time dialing the Nanostreams in.. They blow some sand. Its getting a liiiiittle bit frustrating finding the right spot/angle..

This tank is 96"x36"16"h.

Very, very nice!!! With the black stand the whole thing got a sleek look.
I like the bulbs also... It makes me doubt if I should go for Reeflux of Aqua Connect bulbs for my upgrade...
