AWESOME setup... i am curious though on how you keep your starboard so clean??? i need to clean up my stand lmao

what a great tank! Im going to get a solana for xmas (hubby agreed FINALLY!)

Ive been looking at a hanging option for the light (Im ugrading from my 24g AP 150w reef) and that light tree is awesome. I checked the site and it says its 189 bucks! Is that what you paid? does it screw into the back of your stand? I looked at the mfg pics and it doesnt look like it stands on the ground.. more like its attached to the tank's stand.do you think it would be hard to MAKE something like that? The lighting I think is the hardest thing to get to look good..

Your tank is awesome and clean-shaven :) bravo! cant wait on more pics!

Thanks dragonette! Yeah I paid $189 for the lamp tree and yes it screws into the back of the stand. As far as making something similar goes, I would say it is definitely feasible. However, it would take quite a lot of work to get it to turn out as nice as the lamp tree. Mainly because of the adjustable height feature. It really depend on how prepared you are to work with metal. I dont have a welder or the equipment necessary to easily make one. Its all up to you. I did think about trying to make one, but it would have taken me all weekend, cost me $70, and it probably wouldn't have come out as nice as the lamptree, so I just decided to bit the bullet and buy it. Anyway, sorry for the wordy reply...haha...you could alwasy make something out of wood as well.

Hey guys,
I just went ot Reef-a-Palooza here in Southern California and got my first glimps of the Solara in action!
VERY NICE TANK INDEED!!!! JGrooss4. How do you like the skimmer? It looked like a CPR model to me!!!!! It looked very nice! I alos liked ow there was plenty of room in the back for just about anything!
A VERY CLASSY TANK WITH A FURNITURE QUALITY STAND!!! This is making me second think the smaller nanos! This is a great tank for the price! A better value for the money!

Josh, did you tint the glass on the stand? How did you add the black acrylic to the tank? Very nice tank!

At my LFS they told me that the starfire is still in the Current catague but says sold out check later. Maybe this means they'll come out with it again. Great looking tank!

myzislow: I love the Osmolator! Definitely worth the extra money.

aquaglobal: The Tunze skimmer has been great, although, I may have mounted it a little differently, if I could do it again.

wastememphis: I actually just painted the glass in the stand black from the inside. I thought about tinting it, but decided that I didn't want it to be see though. I added the black acrylic in the tank simply by using a tube of black aquarium silicon and several clamps.

Do you have any prodression pics of what the skimmer pulls out day by dya or hour by hour?

And come on man your killing me I need more pics!!! your tank is my crack:)
