Thanks Tony. Your tank has been a great inspiration for me and just set up my calcium reactor, so decided I'll try and copy you.. the tank is really breathtaking in simplictic beauty.
very well done

NEW SKIMMER ALERT!!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!

I've just fitted another 25g sump. Reason being, there was this very sexy skimmer which I've had my eye on for a while. This new skimmer is too big to sit in my old skimmer sump.

The new skimmer is a Reef Octopus XP 3000, it is a cone skimmer with a 35w bubble blaster pump. I've just turned it on in salted water and it's crazy Talk about foam!!!!!!!! The air volume is hoofin mad, I'd love to stick an air flow meter on it. Manufacturer claims 1300-1500lph of air. Looking at it work, it may even be more.

I'll try to get some pictures of it tomorrow. It looks very well made, thick plastic and clean joints nice finish all round, a superb bit of kit. I am looking forward to seeing how well it performs.

If any one is thinking about a new skimmer, I would strongly advise you consider the Reef Octopus XP range of cone skimmers.

Regards,

Tony

Here's some pictures of the skimmer, I even cleaned the cup too!

The amount of air getting blown through this skimmer is hard to capture with still pictures, but it's like a foam party

Now this is some thing that I've not seen before, a wrasse that thinks he is a clown fish. He hosts in my cat! He lays in it, treating it like a big sofa! Lol!

Earlier this afternoon I got an itch to play with my camera and, the tank was the subject. I've also set up a frag rack which has two 3ft x 3ft x 4inch tanks.

Here's a few pictures of the tank and one of the frag racks, hope you enjoy:

Tony, your tank is progressing beautifully! I love the growth formation on your pink birdsnest. I think it's one of the more underrated corals in the hobby. Few come close to it when it is so deeply colored. Great Job!

Great system Tony, good to see such a healthy reef with such rich colours.

Back to your Iodine supplementation, may i ask what your regime is?

I would very much like some of that Acropora abrotonoid , not sure if i have spelt it right.

Oh yes the acro pink tips & green polyps in centre of tank.

Do you have a tank thread showing what stock you have, as I may be interested in a trade?
