Wow those are some serious colonies! What do guys like this do for flow?

Are there any decent marine stores or aquariums in San Francisco that I can visit. I'm here until the weekend....

Thanks
Mo

Ralfp's 870 is my fav too! not just the tank and system -- the reef. saxby's tank is the grand daddy of reef, but i have a hard time thinking it would win "SPS tank of the decade".

too soon to give ching the nobel... but he will undoubtedly deserve it in the next decade! :-) his last tank was one of my all time favorites!

I have to agree after seeing the New RalfP pics and the closeups posted, those are one of the most stunning captive SPS pics I have seen.

Hats off to the man!.

Not quite in the large tank range, but deserves an honorable mention for it's sheer class.....

In San Francisco there probably aren't any stores that are "bad ***", Ocean Treasures on Dubose is a good store, however there operation times have been drastically cut due to the economy, Aquatic Central can be nice depending upon what has come in, and just for kicks and giggles going to 6th Avenue on Clement is an experience people need to do at least once, seeing 25 tiny regal tangs in a little 5g cube is something else :D

Oh and the California Academy of Sciences is a nice look too, however it's not free like the other places.

If you had a mode of transport, the really nice places are spread around the bay a bit more... but the Bay Bridge is currently closed, so driving around this area might not be the best thing to do now :)

And back to the thread.... there are so many tanks that are just spectacular to limit myself to even 10 would be a real chore since some attributes of one tank that I like might not occur in another which has different things.

However a shoot from my hip response has to put Steve's tank in the top 10 without question.

go see the aquarium at the science museum, the display is very impressive, though the livestock needs to mature a bit, worth seeing. I was not too impressed with the LFS's in SF, maybe someone here can chime in, you may want to move this to a new thread though
