sps tanks salt choice

I've used a few different brands but I always find myself going back to IO. Its easy to get, cheaper then most and works for me. Been using it since 1984..

Been through 3 200 gal mixes of RC and tank is better than ever. I used TM, TM Pro and Bio active, IO, and Red Sea Pro. Red sea pro had great chemistry but would grow brown algea that would cover the viewing panel in 2 days.

IO but I have been thinking about switching to RC so I do not have to dose to increase calc and all before performing water change. Only a few bucks more for the RC over IO too.

RC (but IO + Alk and Ca if my LFS is out of RC) but I run my Alk stably at ~ 10. If you run 8 or less, IO would be fine. Many, many, many TOTM on either IO or RC.

I have used RC over the years, TMC Pro reef and D&D H2Ocean...Due to the cheap price and availability of H2Ocean, I use that now.End of the day, you will find SPS keepers using every brand of salt out there...

I used ti get my salt water from my LFS and now changed to red sea pro and even with a few water changes corals are looking better

D-D H2Ocean here as of recent. Like it a lot. Mixes at DKH of 8.5 for me, which is perfect.

Before I used Tropic Marine, it was great too but expensive.

I have had very good luck with both Brightwell and Tropic Marin, I am running strictly Tropic Marin now and am very happy with how easy and fast it dissolves when mixing. And the consistency of the product.

Well ok my goal is to get my levels closer to natural sea water. I'm thinking of switching to zeo it system and requires nsw levels and the reef crystals I'm currently using keeps the alk way to high. It looks like Red Sea has the lowest alk at 7 that might be the only choice I see that will work.

Why not collect your own water? You should be close enough to drive.

Was using LFS water but switched to red sea pro. My calcium seem to be on lower side and thats the reason for switch.

I use IO. I have used seachem, and tropic marine pro. I also have done 50/50 blends of io and TM pro. I will also add my DKH is higher than I would like so I will be trying some other salts. My system is low demand currently, as things are growing in.
