Start of a new tank

So im starting up my newish system(2 displays and a sump). My 30 was being over run with hair algae which i started to keep up with. At the same time my tanks were on the back porch (indoors) which has hardwood flooring....needless to say my mother isnt to happy with me right now. Anyway. I purchased a 55 from a guy near rochester here is his link he has a really nice 120 if anyone is interested

It was nice to be able to set up the rock better. Also nice to be able to clean out with LaCl .2ppm with BRS rock before any treatment :eek2:! With the 30 i kinda tossed rubble and base rock but not much aquascaping so i set up the left side slightly higher than the right and added an island in the middle.
I had a mag7 return pump sitting around so i desided to hard pipe that with the tips being lockline. I offset the stand for the 20 gal so that you will be able to see the backs of each. Somtimes those timid fish and inverts are hard to see with the backs not visible. So here is some pics of the startup

Not much color going on yet. A tank full of coral in a 30 looks almost empty in a 55! Tank was fully cycled and then i moved the coral and rock from the 30down stairs. The transition was flawless. No death or spikes in parameters. The only thing i saw negitive was the clam didnt like to be moved but shes opening up now. The 20 gallon i will be moving down in the next few days to plumb into the system. Enjoy!

Thanks! Its looking good now. Finished plumbing in the 20 gal and i have yet to have any losses. Things look much better. I've noticed a decline in HA which i now thing the biggest cause was the amount of natural lighting the tanks were getting. i didn't even realize it was that much until i moved them down stairs and the tanks lighting looks so much different.

A few issues i ran into, The lockline was not the right kind so i had to hard pipe which i then found it was to much flow for the over flow so i had to cut a junction and ball screw in to have a pipe go back to the beginning of the sump. So thats finally good. More flow to both tanks actually which im happy with. Then i found i was getting electrocuted by my lighting so i think i need to replace a ballast. My actinics are working ok but the daytime lights seem to keep blowing the GFI. So i have to tear stuff apart today and try to find out why. Thats alot of juice to pop that breaker. The advanced ballasts for TEK are about 40 bucks so i kinda hope its only the one.

Other than that everything looks great here are a few more pics. I did a side overflow from the main to the sump. The other pic is of the 20 long and i also got a sweet snapshot of my newest addition!! my old scooter blenny died from age i think since i know i have a good pod population. And my mom loved him so we got another one which was pretty young. He didn't want to come out of the bag so i scooped him up and he stayed in my hand untill he was comfortable to leave! I was really happy to get a shot like that! So all i need now is some cable managment which im not great at >.<

Thanks! It was a bit of a large move. Im already 100% happier with it. Just being able to aquascape a bit before i started made things look much better already. Checked everything this morning still looks good. When movin the rocks i gave them a good scrub so most of the HA i scrubbed but unfortunalty some was still left. But it seems to me that the HA is declining. I am going to continue to use LaCl untill i know that the HA is almost gone. At which point ill be running just GFO.

Got a some really sweet pics!!!! i was so excited to get these. I wanted to make sure i could replentish the pod population after the move. I ordered from reefs2go like i usually do but with the holidays i wanted somthing that day i got the scooter blenny. So i bought
