I wish that I did not add my three firefish. I would have rather got this pair of yasha hase gobies and tiger pistol shrimp I found on the Divers Den. Do the yasha come out at all or do they hide 24/7?

And thanks by the way, learning lots from you all.

this is a good one
In the LFS store one of the stooges er salesguys tried to convince me that the longer the snout on a butterfly fish the less they were able to eat coral polyps and therefore more reef safe
Duh
I dunno that his logic is sound, but the large longnose butterfly is supposed to be more reef safe than the yellow longnose butterfly. Check out your copy of Scott Micheal's Marine Fishes.

I know there are a few butterflies that are reef safe, but I doubt that snout size has anything to do with it. The lemon butterfly fish is supposed to be reef safe too and it's nose is about an eighth the size of the longnose, or copperband.

No problem... here to help

My gobies are pretty active, and burrowed in the front of the tank, so they are visible throughout the day. The boldest one leaves his burrow quite often and perches out in the middle if the zoanthids and watches over everything.

The other one's head can usually always be seen, but only comes out of the burrow around feeding time usually. He burrowed in the dumb corner of the tank, and I think the big fish swimming by all the time keep him in his burrow.

9 more huh? Well have you though about what fish (even if it's way down the line) you might want to add next? What do you think about the longnose butterfly?
I still have got my eye out for that magnificent foxface...

other fish on the lookout list are:

some various wrasses
potter's or regal angel
blue spot jawfish

...and the shorter a person's nose is... the less likely they are lying to you, right?

I didn't know you had all those corals. Maybe I missed their addition when I wasn't on for a day or two :rolleye1:
Things happen so quickly on this thread

Well, you know what that means.

I love this thread! So the whole cleaning the powerheads....I love it! I can't wait until mine are dirty enough to have to clean! :) Thanks for the advice, and demo.

Yeah the majority are all small frags, and most are on the right side of the tank

Oh good gawd... do not let Laura see that post :eek2:

Ever since she saw Randy post pictures of his, that is ALL she talks about

I don't know too much about them though, there was a thread somewhere a little while back on them.

Haha... no problem they were disgusting when I pulled them out... The Vermetid snails were literally all over the insides of them... it was sick.

Now they look brand new again though :D

It was pretty funny though... My clowns host near the one, and when I pulled it out, they didn't know what to do and were swimming all over the tank like they were lost

4000. way to go TJ

Raen, there are a few different species of cowfish that may make it into the trade. While one of them stays at about 5 inches, the rest get to about 18-20". They are not reef safe, and eat meaty foods.
They are not aggressive like their closely related brethren the puffers, and they are usually easily startled, and may even run into a rock or the tank's glass and break a horn...awww. And, if the fish is stressed a lot it may release a toxin that could wipe out everything in the tank, including the box fish. (Scott Micheal)

Cool fish, but better left in the ocean IMO
