i've read and read, and read some more. so far the pro vs cons in this gives the pros the lead. Out side of green water or sliming, there really isn't much bad. Of course i'll watch my paremeters better but i should do that any way. I'll be posting pictures of the before and after when my experiment as shown some type of result. And a message to randy mainly but any one who might can help would be nice, What about adding to fresh water tank to lower stress. I have an african cichlid tank and when a fish gets bullied alot i end up with ick. Might vit. c help control the ick problem from stress? Thanx guys. This thread has successfully ate my recent life. Good job to everyone for one of the most successful threads i've ever seen

VC is supposed to help with SW ich. Someone from my reef club swore it got rid of "ich" (actually not ich on SW fish--it's Cryptocaryon irritans, a totally different parasite) on his tang. I believe when I had a burrfish with it, the other fish didn't get infected because I was treating the tank with VC. I still went ahead & used hypo on the fish in another tank (never went totally away on the burrfish) & that tank is still fallow now.

If you really have a problem, you need to treat it with hypo: http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/hospital/swich/

Edit: OK I just reread your post & you were referring to the real FW ich (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis) & here is the best treatment for that:

I wish you had added this to the VC thread & ot started a new on on this. There is a thread here, where folks are posting their findings:
