Stay away from Petware house

No reef/fish club should have a problem with a member speaking up about any experience at a local reef/fish store whether it's a good review, or bad, as in your case and the club should be supportive of the review as well. I personally never did like that PW even when it was next to Wally World. The old guy owner usually had an attitude, some of the fish had ich and the prices were crazy high so I never really bought anything from there anyway unless it was a must have or my tank will crash now situation.

And, I can't count how many times I would be browsing the store and hear some mad misinformation being given to customers. I'd just laugh most of the time but I did speak up to the customers a few times and point them in the right direction.
 
I have also had a few small issues with PW. And I also agree with both Mojo and Freed. It's hard to turn the other cheek When someone tell's you to get the F out of my store. Especially when your have to give money to that someone.

I support ya Jessie. I stopped shopping at PW when I was followed around the store like a common criminal. Do you really think I want that clown fish with ick...right!

Yeah I agree Brad. I understand that all people have bad days, even store owners, but telling a customer to get the F out of your store is just crossing way over the line.

Most of my bussiness goes to online vendors for various reasons. The guarantees they are putting out there cant be beat and there is next to no hassle if there is any type of problems.
As for the coral reef, I use to feel that he ignored me when I first started going. I see where people are coming from on this matter. Jim at Sea Dwellers was like this as well but he has such a small shop its hard not to say something quickly. I walked out the Coral Reef the first few times too as I'm sure many have. But then again, I hate getting asked can I help you when I first walk in the door. That alone kinda makes you feel unwelcomed in a sense, like your out of place or lost. In all honesty, if you want instint customer service, go where people get paid commision. They could care less what you are doing with the livestock and have minimal knowledge about any product. They know enough to get it out the door at best. When it came to what my money was buying, Coral Reef by far had the best Livestock in town. So I went back and looked around. After a few minutes of day dreaming what my tank could look like, I walked up to him and started asking him questions about what I wanted. Thats all it took and was a pleasure to talk to him once I had the guts to ask for help. I like his customer service although at first I didnt understand it. If you want to just walk in and look around, then look around. He will let you stay all day just to gawk around. If you want to buy something or have a question, speak up. Thats all it takes. I still highly support the coral reef over any other LFS. Besides, he has never looked down on me or given me any ill advise, or comments for that matter.
I see exactly where Jesse is coming from on this matter and I support him hands down. I wouldve drilled him in the jaw and his big beaty eyes if he talked to me like that in front of my kids:mad2: So you have one up on me Jesse and I think you handled the situation very good. There's no excuse for that type of out burst. Being only human isnt an excuse either to treat people that way. Especially if you owe your customer money:confused: :eek2: At best he should've said he would have to look into it and wouldve gotten back to ya. He shouldve assured you the situation wouldve been handled. He probably handled it the best way he could. :lol: What did he think was gonna happen treating a customer that way? I have never really supported PW even before this incident. I'm sure a select few know that. I actually despise PW and what it represents but thats my own opinion. I put them in the same category as Petland. I know others have their own opinions aswell. I'm sure they will raise the prices yet even more just to make up the loss of money from Mojo!:rollface: :lol:
If they have an out of bussiness sell I wont even go to that:mixed:
 
now Rob you know if you are shopping for that Gem tang you will need to have the baggie with water in your pocket too.......so if you walk into the store and slosh when you walk I would be somewhat suspicious of you.....

Joking aside, there is no excuse for that kind of service regardless. I will not shop there because of Jesse's experience. Had my doubts prior but shopped there due to convenience only. I don't care what the situation was I stand behind our members and their experiences.
 
With you 100%. I agreed with Jesse from the get go, but didn't want to sway members in the club one way or another, not that my opinion counts by any means. you just can't talk to people like that, and expect there not to be anything bad happen from it.

I did like going in there when Neil worked there, just to get him all ****ed off, and then laugh and leave. ..... And I have done my fair share of business with them as well. I would venture to day almost as much as Jesse, it just spread out over 20+ years of having tanks and critters of all sorts.
 
it would be interesting to add up how much as a membership we have spent in the store over the years. It definitely doesn't pay to jack off a whole sector of potential customers unless you are just plain stupid. I don't think he had any idea the sway that Jesse has.

WEll I know I have bought 75g, a 90g , a 65 g, a 29g, Three different stand setup. Not to mention the thousands in livestock and items over the last two to three years.
 
okay, now calmn down I was going to say pi$$ off but then I thought that this may be a family forum.....and now that I realize what I typed....hmmmm maybe Pi$$ would have been the better word....lmao
 
Did I mention I bought some coral From kluas last week and hermits today as I drove by uncle bills.
$113 dollars I didnt spend at PW.
