Finally got the ext wavebox up and running. I have to keep the wave at 2" due to the un-even floor.... Look like i need more tunze 6305
Uneven floor? Tell me you added the leveling feet to that monster of a stand.

Steve, congrats on getting water, sand and rock into your tank.

The video was nice, but it does look like the tank is out of level. Is the right end (in the video) lower than the left end?

Marc, that is correct. The right end a bit lower but not much.... But my floor is like a darn canyon :D, the middle part was high while both side was low so i have to shim it all the way back..... I rather it low on one end then the tank rocking back and forth... If i own the house, the issue will be fixed...

hey steve - it's looking awesome!!!

so what kind of substrate did you end up going with? looks like it's staying in place, even with all that flow in the tank! maybe i'll copy you ... :-)

Tony, i am using tropic eden reef flakes. It is not big at all but very solid. I didn't even wash the sand before adding into my system.

Looks great. What pumps did you end using in the exterior wave boxes?

Stan

Stan, i am using 2 tunze 6201 instead.... I will use the other 6305 for tank circulation..

IMO, this is the heaviest sand but the grain fairly small. It still suitable for wrasses and sand sifting fish. Don't let the word flake fool ya, it comes in different shape except flat like Aragonite

Looks really great Steve. Have you ever considered Apogon instead of Chromis?

Leonardo

Leon, i am going to get that as well... My tank will be filled with cheap fishie....:D

Okay ;) I understand... Apogon aren't cheap for sure and the survival rate isn't really 100% as well... Can be a money pit to fill your tank with them ;)

I will have my LFS order them fish in for me and have them QT so i don't have to take much casualty. I need to wait for my tank to get really stable before i can add any fish in there. The 100 chromis will be my testing tool :D then the 10 Hawaii flames, then a pair of Blotchii and Dussumieri tang.... If they all survive, i will start adding sensitive fish...

BTW, i love your cryptic zone. I am going to use a 55g drum fill with live rock for that. Do you have any add any sponge or they just grow on their own
