Stocking list for a 57 gallon rimless

I could use some suggestions. I am thinking about going with a school of 4-5 purple tangs (a rip-off of Newschool's idea), an engineer goby, a porcupine puffer, a maroon clown or two, 1 or two Asfur Angelfish, a frogfish, a lionfish, a clown trigger, a plecostomus, and a basket starfish. I plan on only feeding Tetra flake food.
This is for a 57 gallon tank with a 15 gallon sump.

Well, since I'm assuming you've discovered, after all your scientific research, the means of keeping all fish to a maximum growth of 3" as well as successfully completing, with a 100% success rate of course, your scientific approach to both inhibiting aggression in marine livestock and weaning any marine species to flakes, I believe you'll have a most beautiful and peaceful tank.

I'm also very confident that, in the most unlikely event your scientific efforts go awry and there is a reversion to natural growth and behaviors of any of the fish, that you already have additional tanks prepared, or have made arrangements for the rogue fish to move to another home.

I would never recommend the stocking arrangements you are undertaking to anyone, but knowing the careful planning, research, and scientific procedures you implemented to resolve the issues that would normally occur under these conditions you may just be able to pull it off.

Again, I would highly recommend against any other fish keeper from attempting this, or from attempting to duplicate your time, labor and financially extensive scientific research until you're able to replicate the results numerous times and are able to provide step by step instructions for fellow hobbyist to follow.

Panther groupers do better in pairs and you should add a nice eel to the mix. It's tricky to get an eel to eat flake but it can be done..........

get a pacu, the pleco will need company, also talk to the Georgia aquarium and maybe they can loan you one of the whale sharks?

I would think that a Humpback would do rather well in there also but transportation from the LFS to your tank may provide several challanges.

Speaking of Tetra Flake Food- Are you going to Try to Use Algae Waffers for that School of Purple Tangs???

while purples are nice....they can get moody when kept in groups.....Show sized sohol tangs would better....plus if one tries to become dominate the others will surely put him back into place....keeping your tank agression free

Jeff- What about a group of 7-10 look-downs? That way the light from your hanging PCs will reflect a nice shimmer.

All great ideas. I can always add more fish a week or two after adding everything mentioned above. I forgot to add that I will have a grouping of those pink and orange plastic plants in the middle of the blue/purple/green gravel bed for hiding places.
