Stockman Standpipe--New, Easier Design

I would just stick with the old design. If you do try to cut a fitting in half with a miter saw make sure that you stablize it some how. I have had them basically explode will trying to cut them.

Reef Central has too many pics uploaded to it, so they all disappeared (which sucks) the mods say to use the galleries instead. Bah!

I made on of the modified standpipes. Works good, but I broke the "flutes" on the inside. The coupling is fairly easy to cut with a hacksaw. Just cut some, rotate coupling, cut more, etc and just go around the outside.

Home Depot, Ace Hardware or any good plumbng supply store in your area.

If you read my original post you will see that I have already tried 3 Home Depots plus 3 Lowes plus every hardware store in the area.

Thanks anyway. Guess I'll have to stick with the old design.

I just built the original, and it needs more tuning but I don't know what to do with it. I drilled the hole in the cap and inserted a line of tubing, but mine goes all the way down to the drain hose. I still get water rising and falling constantly, and large air bubbles coming from the drain hose into the sump. It's very loud, but I can tell I'm close. The airline didn't cause the problem, I actually hoped it would remedy it. The funny part is that during the cycle air will actually puff out of the tubing as well. Do I need another small hole or some other modification?

thanks!

been around but never had an opportunity to contribute

coincidentally, I was *just* cruising around your website

Thanks, catalyst. I have USPlastics catalog and the pictures don't show whether the fitting is "fluted" or not. The picture on Savko's site seems to indicate that theirs is not "fluted". I was hoping someone had ordered them online and could tell me one of these were the correct ones.

I'll have to call them I guess but they'll probably think I'm crazy.

my web site is down due to negligance. I changes internet net providers and by website got cut off. I have not had access to Frontpage, so I have not been able to put it back up. I will get around to it eventually.

It is purely laziness. I have the server space and I have a copy of Frontpage through work. I have to reoganize the stuff and get it posted.

I have been getting quite a few requests for stuff that was on my site. I hope to get around to it with in the next several weeks.

Thanks for the offer.
