Strange disappearance?

Last night I had looked at tank to see how things were coming along. I looked at one of my small zoa colonies and noticed that one polyp was closed but all others were fine and looking heathly.

This morning the whole colony is gone! Stripped right from where they were glued! What happened? Has anyone else experienced this before?

Interesting. It may be that they did fall off and are somewhere in the tank. Since I will be transfering tanks I hope I will find it. I also have those tiny small white/grey star fish.
I heard that harlequin shrimp can eat those small stars that I saw
on the website you sent me.
How many harlequin shrimp can be kept in a 125g tank?

most buy in pairs
1 or 2 would be enough
they are very cool and you will get attached
but once they wipe out all of your stars they will die unless you start buying them large stars or give em to a friend who has a star problem

Asterina's can't do that kinda damage over night, what kinda fish do you have in your tank and invertebrates.

Fish wise I have:
Blue regal tang
Flameback angel
Candycane hogfish
Christmas wrasse
Pink/ yellow anthias
Black Percula
Kole Tang
Cleaner wrasse
Green coris wrasse

Inverts:
Blue hermits
Red legged hermits
Snails
Harlequin shrimp
2 cucumbers
2 serpent stars
