Got hit by a long spined urchin a few mins ago cleaning the window on the front of the tank. WOW does it does have a sting similar to a hornets.:hmm3:
That urchin which is about as big as an apple usually hangs on the back side of the rock. Therefor, I wasn't thinking about it being near where I was cleaning.. The tank is 120 gal with a good bit of LR providing hiding places everywhere. What are the odds of that guy being in exactly the wrong spot on the front of the tank at that time?
At first, I thought I was hitting the rock but with the onset of the sting pain, it took about a nano sec. to knew different.
My bad. I need to look before I get stung again. Pun intended.
As per other posts on RC about getting stung by an urchin,I have run Hot water over the sting
I see what may be some spine in my finger but the pain has stopped for now.
I'll see if I can remove this stinger now.
