Only one at the moment. But this is the first time that I've ever had a challenge with low magnesium, in many years of reef-keeping. I dosed magnesium yesterday and again early this morning. I tested when I came home from work and found it at 1300. I may have raised it too fast as some of the LPS look a little beat up today. I won't does anything else tonight or tomorrow morning and will do a 75 gallon water change when I get home.

I will keep you guys posted on progress.

On a positive note the fish are all back to looking healthy. The chloroquine really is a miracle cure. The Achilles looked like he was going to die a certain death earlier this week. This evening he looks almost perfect, healthy and eating again, even swimming around the QT. I could not be happier with the progress the fish have made in the last three days.

Thats good to hear. Is there a thread on the chloroquine?

This is how I learned of it.

I told my wife today "it truly is a miracle". Had you seen the Achilles a week ago, his flesh was peeling off, he was covered in sores and was not feeding. Today, he has only remnants of marks, barely visible in the light, and is back to munching on nori.

Having now seen the tank in person I have to say that it looks just as nice than the pict if not nicer. Nicely done grasshopper, and sorry to disappoint you with my lack of "this is wrong or I would have done that x way" LOL......

Oh I am not mixing them before adding to top off. Mixing with top off water. My top off water is already mixed with kalk.

Thanks bud. It was great seeing you. I was really expecting criticisms, given the caliber and successes of your previous tanks. The fact that you thought it was spot-on was very affirming. Thanks again.

I am going to hold off on using kalk for now. Things seem to be relatively stable. Going to try not to tinker too much with the tank or equipment, hoping we can keep the current performance going.

That said, I still need to add the 48" reefbrite and possibly another MP40 or even an MP60 :D

Well, it's official, I have Acro Eating Flat Worms. I can't believe it. I dipped every single frag/coral in bayer. I guess I somehow missed eggs, which are unaffected by the dip.

I noticed that one if the frags had bites. I pulled it off the rock, flipped it over and there wit was.

I dipped a total of four frags and found three dead worms in the cup. Not sure where to go from here. There are way too many encrusted acros to rely on dipping alone.

Open to any suggestions.

Do you keep the plugs? I just use a knife and pop my plugs off to make sure nothing is between it and the frag.

I think this might work for you.

Flatworm Stop 250 ml

Right now we have an effective help against tissue eating flatworms on Acropora and for ailing SPS. Flatworm Stop strengthens all kind of corals and reduces parasitical flatworms on Acropora corals at the same time. Very valuable ingredients are assimilated directly after dosage. In our tests also ailing small polyp stony corals recovered and rebuilt the basis as well as gained back the original coloration.

Dosage: 1 ml per 100 Liter tank water daily.

Dose directly into the tank.

For ailing corals dosage can be increased to double or triple.

If it's only affecting a few colonies I would suggest removing those to a quarantine tank for six weeks, just as you would with fish, before they spread. The same things really hammered nineball's tank pretty hard and he learned the hard way to quarantine everything.

I feel for you buddy. Thats one of the reasons i switched over to my 80 gal. I just couldnt shake them from the previous tank. Talk to Rogger from our club. He gave me some medication he was testing out. I tried it on my tank. It was reef safe as far as i remember. I didnt lose any corals, i tried it for a while. It didnt work 100% as he was still fine tuning the dosage and i decided to upgrade tanks anyways. This was about 1.5 years ago. He might have some insight for you.

Thank you all for the suggestions and support. Today was a big day. We pried all of the acropora off of the rocks, dipping them all in a concentration of 10ml per cup of bayer total. All were then dipped in subsequent tank water baths, then attached to plugs and placed on a temporary frag rack.

We found lots of flat worms and a lot of egg clusters. All frags with egg clusters were cut and portions with eggs thrown away. We think we got all of the egg clusters; time will tell.

This process will be repeated weekly, for the next eight weeks.

Hopefully we can find an appropriately sized container, where we can dip the entire rack.

Looking forward to your thoughts or suggestions.

Man I am sorry you went through that. I am glad you caught that situation now instead of down the road. I hope everything recovers. I thought the bayer dip had more of a concentration. Did you place a small powerhead in the bucket with the frags and let the procedure last 10 minutes?
