Stylo328's 187 (60x30x24) Build Thread

As far as the slime on the fuge, I can almost guarantee it's the remains of the shrimp. I found some of mine and I almost hurled. .

Dang can't keep up when I'm on my phone. . I can't comment on the carbon since I don't have a reactor yet, but I have run so far 3 small pouches of carbon to polish the water with no ill effect that I can see.

It's an ATB small and I don't think I can get the output above the waterline. Should skim nice and dry now that its raised.

And yes, I am looking forward to seeing him.

Finally finished plumbing the R/O. Hooking up the lights and timers. And placing the first frag in the main display.

Here are some eagle-eye zoanthids; somewhat inexpensive and a good trial.

Several days in and the eagle eyes are doing fine. So is the blasto frag in the sump. I may be purchasing a reef angel controller, but still debating.

looking great, are those copepods on the glass? another good sign. Mine is covered in them, even after passing the magnet.

Unfortunately no pods yet. Mostly some algae spots here and there. Started running the lights a bit this week. Getting excited.

Love mine. You won't regret it. Price, flexibility and support can't be matched.

Thanks. It seems like the best bang for the money and everyone I've spoken to has commented on the support and flexibility. I will mostly use it to control lights and maybe some temperature control via a fan in the stand.

Hopefully I can order the week of the 8th after vacation.

Update. Multiple tests by multiple parties confirm zero nitrite, nitrate, ammonia or phosphates.

The initial corals are doing well so I added a few more frags.

Finished the r/o unit install, put in the new DI resin and TDS is zero. Happy to have the R/O online!

Added a midas blenny and mystery wrasse today. A few hours-in and things seem to be going well.

Thanks for the link.

I discovered an issue today. My corals are lightening in color, the polyps have taken on a neon hue. I had set the lights at 10" off the water, but the intensity is an issue. For the moment I have raised the fixture to over 20" over the water and have reduced the photo period.

Corals do not seem to be in danger of perishing, glad we caught it early.

glad you caught that, can't you turn the intensity down?, I have mine set to 45% and although i only have three frags i can see great coloration and polyp extension.

Thanks.

Unfortunately my ATI does not have a dimmer. Along with the changes in the previous post, I will also only run two bulbs for dawn and dusk, alternating with the other six bulbs for the daylight photo period.
