Also had the opportunity to visit with a good friend and his family yesterday. Picked up this bad boy while I was there. Already plumbed and he even gave me the circulation pump.

Can't say enough about DGASMD one of my longest standing friendships!

I can't see the photos but I can't wait to see them in their permanent home. You have a VERY nice collection going. I have about 1/2 that and can't find anymore places for new stuff :-(

Should be fixed now. I don't understand why Tapatalk is so finicky. Sometimes quotes and pictures work fine, other times I have to log in through Safari and edit the post before they will show.

Don't be sad about the space. I've seen pictures of your tank and it looks amazing!

I'm embarrassed to admit that I had to look some of them up. I stood in front of the tank with my phone and documented all of them. I did skip the ones in the sump, but those are mostly mushrooms and cinnamon polyps, that will never make it into the display.

I am glad you came by. Now grow all that stuff like weeds so I can get really motivated to get a tank and fill it up from the beginning with a free frag of each LOL..........
 
Question, have you been checking for ammonia? i ask because i had my QT sitting for a few weeks with a filter pad seeded from my DT. I added 5 green chromis to it this past Saturday and Sunday night i had 0.50 ammonia. changed out 2.5 gallons on Sunday night and added a second filter pad and another 2.5 g wc Monday morning. This morning ammonia was barely 0.25. All that drama from adding just 5 tiny chromis to a 10 gallon in 24 hrs. i think your qt is 40g with i think you added 7-10 fish at once and may have caused a massive bioload on the tank. I was going over this all last night and all i could come up with. I will be investing in Ammolock or something similar since i think i read Furan2 kills the bacteria in the filter.
 
It may very well have been an ammonia spike. The QT is 75-gallons and I came home from MACNA with five black cardinals, about an inch long each, and an Achilles tang, at about four inches long. That was in Sunday. The clod appeared on Friday. May very well be connected.

At this point the tank is clear again and all of the fish seem fine. I have used no chemicals or meds in QT, only hypo-salinity.

It's amazing how coral growth is exponential. We may not be talking inches here, but looking at the pictures made me smile.

Thanks. No my birthday is not 328, it's from a BMW forum that I used to frequent back when I was an E36 aficionado. The name just stuck over the years.

I need to figure out how to easily take photos and upload them so that I can get the white balance corrected. Every picture I take with the iPhone looks windex-blue.

So your the one that bought that Achilles Tang? Nice. You should have gotten one of those black tangs to go with it! LOL.

Yeah, he came home with us. I thought about getting one of the black tangs, but they were just too big.

I'm not crazy about bringing home big fish. I like to watch things grow over time.
 
stylo you take the :hb2: on impulse shopping, i thought my wife was bad when her response is usually "but it was on sale!" LOL
