Suggestions for scolly

I picked up a scolly at lfs that isn't doing really well. Lots of tissue lose.
1st question do you think dipping it will kill it the rest of the way and 2nd would it do better under 150w 14k MH (34g salona) or under LEDs (3.5 watts per gallon)? Both tanks have high flow (MP10's). Thanks

They don't like high flow. They can take a little higher light but you have to acclimate them to it. Definitely do better in lower light and flow. I would put them on the bottom of a solona with either of those lights.

IME, they really should be fed a good meal at least once a week. If you don't spot feed them at night when their feeders are out, you will want to kill your pumps and squirt a good amount of mysis on them. After a minute or so the scoly will react and start to open up to eat. They are slow eaters so you have to give them some time. I typically feed mine when I do my water change since the pumps are off then anyway.

Great to know. I will turn my MP10 all the way down for now. We spot feed our acan and dendro already so we will add him to the list.
The lfs gave it to us for free to see if we could revive it. Want to give it the best possible chance.

I did a Revive dip and now have it in the bottom of the tank w/ the MP10 turned off.
He is in ruff shape and I hope he can pull thru.

It still has lots of tissue, under the right conditions I think it'll be just fine. Just a thought, you may want to try to set it in a spot where it get's pretty low light until it settles in.
