I noticed Steve Garrett had a few of these on his outdoor prop system...........................I've been looking at them at Home Depot, but they're $85 a pop..........................

i wonder how loud it is? i dont' have a fish room, to hide it in... i just use a box fan at the low setting right now for emergencies... and a small clip fan from college freshmen days for the regualr heat...

oh so is that what you are going to be doing;)

You have to check the wattages on those things. I think I came across at HD and those fans used 200+ watts. A Vornado fan uses less than 100 watts.

im not familiar with wattage and costs, but would that be a pretty penny to run 24/7 through the summer? cause i know running a regular house fan 24/7 adds 100 to the electric bill for my house. anyone know a conversion of wattage and cost or anything like that

my fav fans are vornado.

most models have a LIFETIME warranty.

i just tested their warranty services as my smaller vornado died on me. called them up for a return number, send it in ($10) or so and got a new fan motor put into it.

the bad news?

the motor died in a week.

what to do? i called them up again, they sent me a FREE ups shipping tag on and resent it back in.

it has been working flawlessly...AND will never have to (theoretically) buy replacement fans. they are pricey for fans but well worth the lifetime warranty services esp for our high performance requirements.

I think he wants to use those big fans to do his water changes...probly strong enough to blow the water right out.
