geebus Beerguy... that photo is at a whole other level of amazing! I'm sure it was work getting to that location, and some blessed timing with excellent foresight... i'm floored.

the photo is quite amazing as well... I really like the falls and how they are lit under the stars... I assume some post-processing was used to bring that out a bit...

But, for my eye, the one above is just out of this world. There is so much detail in the shadows and highlights.. and well it's fantastic...

Actually, the light on the falls is man-made. It's reflected from the lights around the lodge and village area. ;)

Doug - I like that last one. It is nice to see some fresh views from Yosemite. I love all my shots of Half Dome and El-Cap, even my slot canyon stuff, but there are only so many different lighting condidtions of the same place. That last shot has such a nice feel of balance and flow...I am just drawn into the distant mtns and cool clouds, then I bounce back to the foreground. Nice.

A little heavy on the PP but I like the shot. I just slapped this one together as a test. I am gonna work on getting the same effect while keeping the contrast a little more real life...

The first pic is a sunrise I shot in Miami just before the New Year. The others are sunsets off my back patio.

Last night up in the foothills above Sacramento.

We got hammered by rain yesterday. It started to break up in the afternoon so I grabbed my gear and headed up the hill. I got soaked pretty good but it was worth it.

One of the most intense sunset's I've seen in years! Complete with Fata Morgana (an optical illusion due to a temperature inversion)! Still sorting, I took like 5GB's worth of images.

A shot from last night....funny how people like clear skies. The clouds give it so much more intensity. I like this image, but after tonights show with some clouds for the light to play off it was knocked down a notch for me.

Cloudless over Anchorage...
Sunset-3.jpg

From tonight after the main display (probably 30-45 mins, maybe even an hour after the sun actually set) in a cloudless area way Northwest from the very first posted image.

do not sell yourself short... a little agressive croping and some adjustements and i think you've got a pretty good photo there.. (i'd crop hard for a horizontal presentation, and boost contrast as a start)
