super bowl sale?

Normally I dont talk about places, but Old Orchard really ticked me off this week. Go there if you want to be avoided for hours, and responded awfully rude. I asked the same 3 guys to help me out over and over after they were done. Finally asked my cousin to ask, and the guy gave him an <font size="4" color="#0000FF">profanity removed</font> response. Left and today are officially on my never to go to store list.

Reef Central uses filters for a reason. If you have to get creative with symbols to get around those filters, you already know it's not welcome here. Beyond that, it's a [ua] violation.
I'm pretty sure this is not the first time I'm telling you this.
 
Is someone going there?? I am out of town and need some cleaning crew for my tank along with Feathers and Rics.
 
Don't go there terrible service took them 30min to get me di water and it was a weekday......But hey if u like being stared at and not helped be my guest....by the way one of the employees told me he puts copper in the main tank because a couple of there tangs have ich ...shoppers beware
 
i usually dont have a problem there except for one time before my quarintine, i bought a ytang and it died about two weeks later from black ich. other then that, i get good service,a nd the fish are doing fine right now i have a porc. puffer that i got at last years sale, and a yellwo eye kole tang that is just devouring my algae.

on this years flyer it didnt say anything about fish anyone know if the fish are on sale?
 
I do know of the workers can be rude sometimes but poeople on here really jump on this anti ooa bandwagon for no reason. Anyone whohas been there knows they always have a ton of staff on hand and help everyone fairly quickly so I dont know what some of you guys are talking about. To answer the question yes they are having the super bowl sale this weekend.
 
i dont love these guys either but they got a great parts section for propellers and filter parts, loc line parts.

If you only knew what went on a stores, you wouldn't have a place to shop at. O)
 
now I know some people are full of it and make comments just based on what a few people say. Tanks full of dead fish really? I shop there frequently and have seen the owner go off on workers for seeing one dead fish in a tank I seriously doubt there were tanks full of them. Also their sps may not be the greatest but the tank always looks pretty good. I'm not saying they are the greatest shop around im just sick of seeing them get a bad rap from people I have to doubt have actually given them a shot. I mean they have one of the best selections around both in live stock and dry goods, they have a very knowelegable staff (contrary to what a few people here say), yes one or 2 of them are some times rude,and their prices can be a little high (also not as bad as people here make it out to be but higher than the people selling out of their basements.

Too bad you think the people that went there and commented here are liars ;)
I didnt comment on the store yet as I have never had a bad experience there. The two times I was there went ok but I didnt like the prices or the arrogant attitude. I have no reason to go back there as there are much better stores closer to home.
What is your experience in this hobby and how many stores have you been to? 2 of your 4 posts are positive comments about Old Orchard so its hard to tell. :)
 
I have been in the hobby for 10 years and I shop at stores all around the Chicago area. I'm noy sayin Old Orchard is my favorite I just dont like the mob mentallity that seems to go on here. I thnks its a pretty good shop that as you said can be arrogant and overpriced. I dont feel either are as bad as peoiple make it out to be on the thread. I go to every shop I can and the prices arent much more and on a lot of things are the same. I have been to shops who have showed me a fish and said you can pay double that at ooa or living seas and then gone to ooa and found it cheaper. So I dont feel you get an accurate idea of what kind of shop they are from this thread and that is the only reason I actually decided to post and stick up for them. Really they must be doing something rite to be lasting this long when shops all around are going out of buisness.
 
I have found the opposite. I trust the people on here to help me make some aquarium related decisions. Thats the purpose of this message board. I have found, for the most part, very accurate information here. From most people that is.
