Super Colorful Carpets

Ive actually bought from Aquasd, "Will", many times. My last order i received a LTA but it had a torn foot. He didnt give me back my money, but he did honor his guarantee and give me store credit.

Those are some amazing colors. How hard are "pizza" anemones to care for?

From the anemone faq at the top of the forum.

Cryptodendrum adhaesivum (Adhesive, or Pizza anemone)
Difficulty: More difficult.
Maximum size: 1 foot in diameter.
Recommended Minimum Tank Size: Medium (minimum 40 gallons).
Placement in Tank: In the sand only.
Light: Bright metal halide lighting, preferably above 175W.
Current: Low "“ moderate.
Natural clown fish symbionts:
A.clarkii
Split history in captivity: None.
Additional info: As named, this anemone is extremely "œsticky". It is not often available
because it is difficult to capture in the wild, and its stickiness causes problems in
distribution. It is a very proficient opportunistic feeder (it will eat anything it touches).
Sometimes available in brilliant greens, yellows and purples.

I've purchased from AquaSD. He has some really exotic stuff. I've never had anything injured due to shipping so have to give them a thumbs up. Everything that I've bought from them are still alive and well in my tank. That pink carpet he just got in is a killer.....

Here is an old thread about "pizza anemones" from 2005 with some comments from Anthony Calflo.

I was part of a group buy from Will at aquasd. He hooked me up with a few extra frags and everything was healthy. I think the colors on the the anemones are pretty close since the basket looks white. I actually looked up the pizza anemone stuff when he first posted the pics on his website. I was going to ask if anyone had experience with this type of anemone but didn't get around to it yet. I haven't seen many posts about them here.

Yeah, I have to agree with dave. Local shop here in San Diego. Awesome livestock and a great guy. Corals look just as good at the shop if not better. I think he keeps them under a 14k light FWIW

I have been in contact with their supplier these last few weeks. I found his blog online. He exports some awesome anemones and I am looking forward to some of the bta he has on his blog. I will see if I can find the link somewhere.

Cryptos are not sand dwellers so the info is wrong, I have seen many diving, all attached to rock

I think at least two of the "Pizza Anemones" are S. tapetum Maxi (3 inches and 4.5 inches). These anemones have very nice color. I got three that have similar colors and they did not cost me 200 dollars each. They have variety of colors pink, orange, green purple and some blue. I will try to post pictures sometime.

I bought my anemone from Will at aquasd.com a few weeks ago. Fortunately, we have a supplier like this in San Diego that has really exotic corals and anemones. His anemones are natural and very healthy.
