T5 lamp PAR readings

I'm going to switch over to the ATI I think just to see a difference. I usually use 3 blue plus and aqua blue Giesmann bulbs but recently put in the old ATI actinic that I had laying around. I think overall it gives a 14K look.
I'm going to go with ATI Aquablue and Blue Plus and I'm going to order one of the UVL SA's just to test.
Probably won't look any different then what I have now!

This is a pretty accurate look of the Actinic Plus and Pure Actinic Giesmann bulbs from last night. I wish the actinic had a little more punch.

Where I can find the ATI bulbs? I haven't find any one, they do selling UVL, Giesmann bulbs.

I just bought 4X54 watts retro tek T5.

I really like 1x GE 6500k and 3x BluePlus - very 14k looking, everyone who saw the tank loved the look too. I recently swapped one BluePlus for a UVL super actinic. It does pop some corals more, but I am not sure it is worth the loss of PAR. Nobody would notice the difference looks wise but me.

The UVL and other T5 actinics really grab green and yellow better than the blueplus.

So, which specific bulb is the bluest?

Blue Plus by ATI

Blue Pro by Aquaz

Actinic Plus by D&D/Geisemann

Agreed. With a 6 bulb setup I would definitely do a UVL super actinic. With a 4 bulb if you are trying to grow SPS (as I do) I am not sure the slight difference in pop is worth the significant loss in PAR. That said I am still running the UVL super actinic - I am going to leave it in and see if growth slows (hasn't noticably yet).

This will give you an idea of what lamps will give you the most PAR. The GE 3000K had more PAR than the daylight but I need to recheck that.

The Blue Plus is a more blue lamp. If you can run 2 lamps I would do a Blue plus and 1 UVL super actinic. That will get you the best overall look.

Hey everbodies,

what do you setting timer for T5? I have 6 bulbs. Do you running all the bulbs for all the day or setting up for dawn and dusk?

for example,

8 am 2 SA
10 am midday and Aquasun and other 2 aquablue
8 pm midday and Aquasun off
10 pm 2 SA and 2 Aquablue off Moonlight on

that is fine? or what is your recommedation?

tank will be SPS, LPS and inveterbrates. IThank has not set up yet. The ordered of T5 Retro hasn't arrive yet, and have to make canopy first then carribean rocks and Indo-Pacfic sands

Probably start the tank by first of oct.

That should work.
