Its what you like. If it looks good to you that’s what is important. I have kept SPS alive under old PC, 50/50 bulbs did not grow very much, but lived. SPS need much more than just light. I would put my money into a nice skimmer to start with. What skimmer are you running Xmandaddy? Everyone has an opinion it’s good to ask then do what you think is best.

I have a seastorm skimmer, seems like it works pretty good. I am limited on what i can use right now due to the small footprint in my sump area. No space to run and external skimmer either. Tank is a standard 55 so not much room for equipment under the stand.

Not all mines has cree, my old led systems works great i got in at my LFS and he sells for $300 but i pickup for $80 it has 120 watt with at least 210 led bulbs and i picked up one in town with 90 bulbs 300watt.

That's cool if it works for you that's the important thing, think CREE are more efficient but that's a supper deal. nice

LED’s have defiantly come a long way. I am not ready to invest yet, but will at sum-point for sure cheaper and cheaper. that’s a good deal you got JMC2009. Do you have any pictures for your tank, would love to SEEsick it…

A family member of mine is currently working with CREE to expand their markets. They definitely produce the highest quality leds available currently. I gave him a push to mention the reef market. So maybe.... we'll get to see some production fixtures from them one day.

Unfortunately, the aquarium market is trivial in the commercial LED world. WE'll get trickle down. LEDs really need to do their thing in the commercial/residential lighting sector. I'd much rather have that happen then in reefs.

Agreed, reefs would be less than pocket change to a company that size, but from what I hear world light fixture domination seems to be a possible goal, lol.

If you don't mind posting up the pics of your the LED's you are talking about JMC2009. I know there is alot out on the market but i believe in quality.

Also on my fragging tank i have a regular 125 right now and i run a 72'' 14 bulb Constellation and my configuration is:

Blue Plus
Purple Plus
Blue Plus
Aquablue
Blue Plus
Purple Plus
Blue Plus
(Back)
This is on both sides. I am very happy with my lighting and i can only recommend ATI for bulbs. You can probably just keep one purple and trade it out for a Blue plus. I have had great growth and color with this setup. It is also what Grim Reefer recommend to me as well.

As far as skimmers i only use octopus from coralvue. Best bang for your bulk i believe and what i am currently running. My skimmer is the octopus extreme and the pumps are just simply amazing since they pull an enormous amount of air while only consuming maybe 25watts? Thanks

The refuge is in the back and it is a 75 gallon which feeds both tanks. I do have my Calcium reactor but not hooked up let.
