Has anyone tried Sea Kelp as a source of natural iodine? this seems like a good idea as it is natural and abundent in the sea and high in Iodine.

I would like to dose it but Who knows Where and how Luguls gets it solution but i have been tooo afraid to use it due to many horror stories.

please advise, all opinions welcomed

thanx guys

kelp is dried plants. if you intend to dose iodine, how much kelp will you have to decompose in your tank to release the correct amount of iodine?

Would this iodine even be released correctly into the water column so as to be useful (aside from the other problems you would cause)?

How much iodine do you need to release in your column?

What in your tank especially needs more iodine than is already present?

what are your current Iodine levels, and what is wrong with them?

If you have a handle on these issues, then I guess it's OK.....

nope just curious... my iodine is fine, just seem to make sense as opposed to the luguls stuff

thanx for the logic
