Tag, YOU'RE IT!! Everyone play along, will be fun!

I got it at last MARS swap as a frag about over an inch. I think it was just labeled green monti. I really don't recall.

Here's a recent-ish close up photo. I absolutely love the PE.

Looks like an undata. Nice score there.

No media baskets on the tanks, she really doesn't give herself as much credit as she deserves. I think that Hannah just doesn't see as much now that her show piece died.

Ill post pictures soon.

It was truly a beautiful piece. I do need to get some intake media baskets and maybe even see if i can try and rig up a few reactors or something; I don't know..
No skimmer or anything like that either. I've wanted to upgrade for a while now, but the longer I wait, the more unlikely it is that I will.

Thank you Hannah for nominating Hannah to nominate me,

  • I have a Solona 20" cube, I run bare bottom and I don't think I'll ever go back.
  • I use a ten gallon acrylic sump with a Hydor skimmer but the cord is frayed so it is currently out of commission. I also have the sump standing on bottle caps to stop water from sitting under it, yesterday was my first water change without gallons of water on the floor.:uzi:
  • I worked really hard after school and previous summers for my old 75 build and I managed to get two used MP40s. So because I no longer run the 75 I have them positioned on the back of a 34 at the lower settings...
  • For lighting I have a AI Vega Color, I question this light because some things do very well while others melt away.
  • For dosing, someone on here was very generous and gave me a Knop Reactor. I keep it set (according to my test kit) at 14 dKH.
  • I have an Apex controller, only additional modules would be the Break Out box. Use it for my ATO, turn on the sump lights, and when I get around to it I'll use audio jacks as leak detectors.
  • For maintenance I do weekly 10 gallon water changes, use the Apex to turn on a pump to fill up the sump as I am siphoning out of the display into a bucket.

I have a skunk shrimp, a fire shrimp, a pair of black mis-bar clowns, a trio of firefish, and a royal dottyback for stocking.

I have the tank and the sump on the stand, but I use an IKEA dresser with a modified sliding door to hold the ATO bucket, reactor/CO2, and the filter for the school 8 gallon.

LEDs and cameras do not mix, also you may note that I did not include the 8 gallon because it for some reason prefers to be a refugium.

In the modified dresser

The magnetic cover for the electronic section, the hole and screw on the left are for the Apex screen but it is being repaired

Now the tank with some funky lighting!

I am really into LPS but I've been having issues with some euphyllia pieces and other random LPS frags just melting away overnight. Here are my showpieces though.

Got this one for a steal at the local Pet Club, don't like going there but this one was begging to be saved.

Also got this one for a steal...

These were being horribly neglected in someone's despicable SPS tank! The nerve of some people! (Thank you for the really cool tile of zoas horrible someone! They've started growing onto the glass!). No matter how I tried it came out blurry.

I am thinking of taking the smaller section of rocks at the front right and re doing them. They've become a hassle to clean around and constantly need readjustment. Other issue would be the bubble algae growing on my acans I'm trying to heal, would get an emerald but a lot of the frags aren't reachable.

I nominate Brochers for the next tank!

@hannah: that urchin is really cool with the fro! I've always loved the personality of those jawfishes. And this thread is intended for this purpose. We aren't asking for totm quality, this thread is as Brandon mentioned, for the sake of getting to see everyone's tank no matter how neglected or clean.

@jetblack: that set up is cool. Love how evrything is incorporated into the dresser. That's cool! Stunning showpieces!

Thanks for sharing guys!

Rastas, your reef blues, scrambled eggs and RPE's. That guy must of been a real looser. Luckily you rescued those little guys even though most people would think of them as pests in the tank.

I know right! It's such a shame.

Thank you jthao, the idea behind the dresser is that if I needed I can take it away from the system. For college I might have it all contained in the stand or might have to have the dresser to the opposite side of the stand. Fingers crossed that I can keep it though.

Awesome tanks you two. Impressive what you have put together and mantained while in high school. I know I did not have that kind of persistence in high school.

Justin, I want zoa frags. Hook me up.
Glenn

Sorry Glenn, I wanna make a lawn of zoas across the bottom. Plus with them growing into the glass in not sure how to cut them off...

Hannah! I already have drags that I said you can have!

1) Well I'm currently in a 93 gallon Marineland Cube 30x30x24 with corner overflows
2) I run a 20 gallon tall modified sump with a Bubble Magus Nac-7 skimmer, dual media next reef reactor, Tunze auto top off all run through my Apex
3) lighting is a custom setup. 250 watt MH /LED combo. 120 watts of Royal blue actinics. This is best of both worlds.
4) dosing is done with a 3 part dosing set up, Alk, Cal and Mag all on BRS 1.1 ml pumps run off of my Apex as well. I also dose Acro my levels are pretty stable with a PH of 8.45 to 8.65 per the Ph probe. Cal is between 435 aa d 475 with Mag at 1345 per the Hanna Checkers
5) For maintenance I do weekly 25 water changes with pure reef crystals aged 3 days.
6) My stand was custom modified by Jeff and now has 2 doors to get up the stand and it raised the tank to 34" off the ground. I hate bending over to look at a tank.
7) Livestock
1 Purple Tang
1 Yellow Tang
Mated paid of black misbars
1 Striped goby
1 Melenarus Wrasse
Lots of SPS and Z&P

I've been in the hobby since 2006 when I purchased my first 40 breeder tank from a buddy. I've been hooked ever since. I've had 8 tanks including multiples at one time. I've run MH, LED, T-5 and compacts. Run EuroReef , ASM and BM skimmers. Wife is very supportive of my hobby.

Now the photos
