My 2 clowns have hosted a few things in my tank but just dont seem to want to call the nems home. Im still waiting patiently...lolOriginally posted by Schwe
The clowns are ORA Ocellaris clowns, aka false perculas. I got them as little guys back in December. BTA's are not typical homes for Ocellaris, you just need to hope and pray they find the nem. If they're hosting something else in the tank, I think your odds of them taking to the nem are higher. Mine hosted the overflow for a couple days, but mostly sleep with the return nozzle at night.

Yeah, I'll try moving it. I only have 4xT5 though, so of I'm nuking it through 24" of water, all those people using 6+ bulbs are in the overkill zone. It's encouraging that my lighting might be that powerful, though!!

My clam/anemone turf conflict has finally been settled... The clam jumped and the nem has expanded nearly double. I know where I want to put her next, just need to find the time to do so. She's open wide and fluffy on the sandbed but I know she won't do well there. She'll get dusted with sand by the goby and not get enough light.

my pink anemone took out my elegance coral while I was away![]()
Which is really strange because they have been right up against each other for years.

I'm sorry to hear that, Scott. Man, what a loss...
This is where my clam ended up. When the anemone's tentacles were barely touching its mantle lately, it wasn't retracting at all. I wonder if she was just starting to feel cramped as the nem started to cozy down and expand in the spot she decided on.

That leather is growing really quickly. The Digi's are still thriving. I can't believe that little frag that started out as a little piece the size of my pinky nail that broke off of the Digi frag is doing so well. I almost threw it out and thought, "oh, what the hell?"

The color settings on my camera for this picture and the previous one were off, couldn't get it quite right in PS since the funky White Balance really left some hot spots.

wow--your tank is fantastic---looks like that algae problem is gone

Thank you, Scott! I really appreciate your help with everything. That fuzz was some really painful growing pains!
I still have some little spots of Hair Algae here and there, but the evil fuzz'zilla is gone and that makes me happy. It was SO invasive with everything in the tank, no corals or other surface area of the tank was safe-- not even the sand bed.
I am thinking that it is time to add a tang, especially to munch on the algae. I've been thinking, and I might have finally decided on a yellow tang and a powder brown. I've considered a convict or Kole... but the Koles are a bit too drab for me (and I already have enough drab fish-- *coughgobycough*), and the Convicts are hard to come by locally.
I would LOVE a purple tang, but can't pocket one right now. I am thinking yellow because it will pop against the blue background well and are much easier to come by. I know they're common, but they are also still a beautiful fish and their price doesn't hurt, either.
So, do you think the Yellow and Powder Brown will behave? If I add the Yellow, would the Powder Brown be able to hold his own when I add him later on? Should I just stick to a yellow tang in a 90? I don't see an upgrade in the imminent future... Definitely a few years from now, but not within the next year or two (unless I come across a large sum of money or hit the lottery  )
