Tamarin Red Tail Wrasse

Just picked up a pair of these a week ago. Simply beautiful fish! Doing great & eating frozen meaty foods. I see others have had these & I've read people have not had success beyond 3 months. Anyone had long term success with these wrasses?? Please share what you're doing if so.

Thanks!

It's not that they are hard to keep, but that they are poor shippers and most hurt their mouths while in the bags for shipment. Then they cant or wont hunt for their food and eventually perish. As long as you get or find a healthy one and have lots of live rock for them to forage for bugs, then they thrive. I've had both red tail and yellow tail for the last 4 years.

Thanks for the feedback. That sounds very promising.

Anyone else have these?

I have had a trio for almost three years. Once they began to eat they have been one of the hardiest fish I have had. Tank has plenty of live rock and they love mysis. Occasionally one dissapears for a few days, but then shows back up. the key is getting healthy specimens tha are eating and introducing early to a tank (before other wrasses) in my opinion.

Excellent.....more good news!!
