Tang Suggestions Please

I really want to add a Gem and Zebra down the line... probably a Zebra first, but they seem to have stopped coming out of Mauritius...

I spoke with a Diver near South Africa that collects fish for a living and was asking about a Zebra tang and he told me that he has never even seen one in the wild before so that put the brakes on pretty quickly for my hopes of ever getting one. From everything I have gathered they are around Mauritius and Madagascar and surrounding areas but we all know that translates into higher prices. Hell coral beauty's coming from Mauritius are selling on DD for 130$, which is just plane nuts

Only out of Mauritius and Reunion, but no collectors in Reunion.

The Mauritius collectors seem to collect in spurts, hence the big wave of Gems a few months ago, now nothing.

They're wanting a lot more for Zebras now, hence the lack of them on the market.

As much as I love my customers... as soon as one Zebra comes in... it's mine

I have put in a request for as many Zebras as possible. It's the most requested fish on our site...

Not hard to believe that the "unicorn" is the fish that everyone wants... I'm on the request list as well... Maybe if you didn't have the Zebra in your banner there wouldn't be so many people interested in it. I think most wouldn't know the fish even existed

Actually happened long before we sponsored Reef Central.

Was a period there where we were getting notifications for them once a day.

Page two on Google for "Zebra Tang" and page one for "Zebra Tang For Sale" isn't helping either

Yes this isn't helping that cause at all. Although RC doesn't help either especially when multiple threads pop up about a certain fish

Maybe I missed it but what are the dimensions of your tank?

At times my 475g is small for my tangs.... Which is 10ft long

Naso tangs do get large however they do it have the attitude the average acanthurus tang has.

Tennenti/lieutenant tangs do look awesome!
