Zachstone your points are well yaken but i also think you might be missing the point in the fact that like me who has been a redsox fan for many years and tears have also been going to see the rays over the years when the stands were empty, besause they are my home team. but when the bosox come to town thats who im going to see, now it seems like this year its more hostile to be a sox fan at the trop. than it is be a sox fan at yankee stadium. The new fans want to lets just say push the envelope a little because they dont know any better. those of us that have been to big games at major parks know that there is trash talk and yelling but now at the trop. it has gone beyond that.Like ive stated previously i think what the rays are doing is great, but how many fights do you see at the cask or the chicken bone at Fenway after a game even when NY in town.

there is truth to the notion that some rays fans have a real eagerness to give it back to sox fans. most sox fans who fill the trop every year have not set foot in fenway. they bought the sox jersey or hat they so proudly wear at a local hillsborough or pinellas sports authority and now believe they are in the club. a few years ago, i watched one such fan (who i know to be born in clwr- went to high school w/ a buddy of mine) throw his beer in the air as manny went yard in a blow out. a good amount of it landed on a guy and a kid.... the kid stood there wearing his soaked green devilrays shirt.

problem now is, that kid is growing up hating the sox and any such fan who comes into the trop and puts his feet on the furniture. having watched that happen, i don't blame him one bit.

if you ever want a free beer at tropicana during a game vs. boston go up to fans in sox gear. ask to see thier driver's license. tell them if it says mass. you are buying and if it says fla. they are buying. won't be many reaching for the wallet... last mass. license i saw was during kazmir's 2hit cg shut out in '06.:smokin: on the way out of that one, i overheard a sox wagoneer say kazmir would look good in red the following season.... wonder how that guy is feeling sitting 5 games back of that once joke triple a team.

yes, i can get a little intense.:D :o :D... as a kid taking a train to 125th to jump on the 4 to yankee stadium to scalp tix has made me value my short drive, free parking, cheap ticket and the team that has given it to me.

....and ladyfsu... this thread is strange. to balance it out, i'll go start a thread on yahoosports about clownfish. :D

zach, you better have some nice tangs to post. lol

this thread isn't strange. it was a thread to help cope my sadness with pictures of tangs. :D

ha, sorry the only tang i have is my yellow(david price) and i don't want to show you too much. you might start to recognize his off-speed stuff!:D

i thought about trying to photoshop a rays cap into that pic of your naso, but i figured i've already pi$$ed you off enough! :D  :D

zachstone are you going to make it back to NY for any games this year before they move?Im going to the sox series in August, my best friend bartends across from fenway, he's come to know a few of the ticket brokers over the years so he was able to get tickets. And i feel ya on the people who buy the hat and act like they are now the shizzit. Most of the people i know in Boston dont have a drivers licencse, either dont need it, or lost it.But thats just the type of people i know. Its not free parking anymore by the way.lol. I dont know how to post a pic. so i quess you cant c my powder brown.

well, that was actually part of the reason for this past trip. wanted to go one last time and my girlfriend hadn't been since she was too young to really remember. funny part is, i had so much fun i decided to make plans to go back in sept. for a rays game.

not sure that i'll be back to fenway until next year:( . but i do know quite a few of that sort of bostonian. i went to eire pub in dorchestAAHH with one guy like that about two weeks ago now.... good times. what are you paying for those yanks/sox tix? got an extra?

the trop still has free parking.. ya just need 4 in the car. you can also bring in your own bottled water and subs in a clear bag. not something most do, but it helps the pocket for those looking to save $$.

the all-star rosters came out yesterday. as you may know, sox got seven!.... that should help ease your pain a bit. rays got two... but longoria is on the vote in ballott. here is the link, if anyone wants to help him out...

vote for evan! do whatever you want for nl.

btw.. photobucket seems to be the easiest way to go on pics. upload those powder brown pics... lets see 'em!:D

Well I guess I'm not really a Sox fan because I have never been to Fenway. Wow I grew up in Winter Haven where the Sox used to have spring training and have pulled for the Sox ever since. I was taught how to bat by a guy that played third base for the Sox back quite a few years ago by the name of Rico Petrocelli. I did'nt realize you had to go to the stadium to be a fan. Wow all those wasted years pulling for a team when I was'nt really a fan. Who knew. That is about the craziest thing I have ever heard. I have never been to Dallas Stadium either and I am a Cowboys fan too. Or at least I thought I was til I read this thread.

reeffreak that an awesome story, Petrocelli was a damb good player back in the day. That must of been really cool as a little kid to have that happen. how did you luck into that one? And never going to fenway doesnt make you less of a fan, becoming a fan after they start winning makes you less of a fan, thats the point. But dude you gotta go check out fenway!!!! Road Trip anyone?????Fenway is a historical treasure, just like the whitehouse.lol

Even if your not a fan fenway park is a nice experience. The atomosphere there is incredible. The place is olddd.. i mean really old, it's almost like walking back in time when your in there. My last game there was in 04 during the alcs. Right before we moved to florida. Been holding off on flying up until I can afford some green monster tickets.

my 2nd favs are gobies. :)

nonna thanks for the pic. I actually wanted a male naso because I really like the streamers but all the ones I found were huge. How big is yours?

When I was about 8 years old Rico and his family stayed in a house during spring training across the street from me. He had 3 boys that were about the same age as me and my brother. One day we were playing baseball in the street and he was reading the paper on the porch. I came up to bat and he noticed I was batting cross handed, He came out and showed me how to hold the bat and worked with me on my swing. After that we would go play ball with his kids and he would come out and pitch for us. The next year for spring training we had Carlton Fisk live in the same house. He did'nt end up being as nice as Rico. He never signed an autograph or even talked to us. He would just say I dont have time.
