Tank cloudy when viewed from long end

Ok - this is an odd post, I guess. I have a 6' peninsula tank that, when viewed from the end, makes the tank look cloudy / dirty. From either side it looks pristine. Any idea what might be causing this effect?

This is a 3/4" acrylic 72" x 20" (w) x 24" (h).

Do you run carbon? I had the same issue with my 4ft tank. It looked somewhat yellow toward the opposite end when looking down it.

I started running carbon and it went away.

Interesting - I stopped running carbon for a bit because of a problem with the reactor, but just started again. Perhaps it will clear...

How long has the tank been up? Every new tank I set up has taken 4-6 months to reach stability and clarity. Once past that point they look great.

This is a system reboot, so not long. I am just curious as to the technical reason that a tank could look different in the "long" view.

Im having the exact same issue.Its been 5 days going,I hated
to do it but I broke down and added Seachem Clarity tonight.I
hope to wake up to a clear tank..

It could be any number of things. You're looking through a greater depth of water at the ends than the sides, so any slight cloudiness is going to be more apparent. I see something similar on my tank, but it's because I don't clean the glass ends as diligently as I do the front. If it's not that, then it could be some residual particulates from the sand, if you are using sand.

IME, it is often dissolved organics in the water. +1 to run some carbon, and make sure your skimmer is doing it's best as well.

I agree with ca1ore. The depth of water ur looking though makes the difference. The cloudiness is there both ways but more noticeable when looking through more water
