So I just put my tank in fallow for an outbreak of ich. 2 days later my long T. moved down from its rock and settled in right next to my carpet. They are side by side (touching). ...my amm and nitrates seemed to jump a tad when I had to get my fish out...not sure if it is an issue and I should be concerned...what do you all think ..? amm. .10 nitrate 15....

It is almost like I threw my tank into a mini cycle when I drained the tank...is this poss. ..?

tank has been up for 1yr +

I know I am missing info...please let me know and I will get it for you if I need to....thank you

I'm not a LTA expert by any means, but you said that it was on the rocks and is now on the sand? I would have been more concerned before - LTAs are sand dwelling nems and typically are only on the rocks when something is out of whack.

huh....when I bought it...it was on a rock at the LFS....it was on that rock up untill now. I am not sure...the only test i don't have is a mag test....I am not sure if that is a must for them.....all the other prams are good....just the bit of amm and nitrate. I think that is from having to take all the rocks out and messing witht the sand bed.

Anytime I have seen an LTA on a rock it was due to poor light and it reaching, and this is common at LFS, so I would expect it to move lower in sand if conditions are right.
However, the fact that it is touching the other nem would concern me, I would not doubt there is some chem warfare happening between the two.
WC's to get params in check, carbon for sure, and I would try to sepperate the two.
Really having more than one species of nem in a tank can cause issues.
