Tank turnover (flow rate)

I am currently running at about 2100gph in my 55 reef. I have to wonder if this is too much flow. I seem to always have particals floating through the tank. I do have a diamond goby and attribute some of that to him, but do you think I should cut the flow down?

What sort of reef? I've got about 1500gph on a 45 but I don't have much for sps.

What kind of corals do you have and plan on keeping?

Just havee zoas, xenia, kenya and a few shrooms right now. looking to put a frogspawn pretty soon.

is that going through your sump at 2100 gph or is that including your powerheads

i just have a 3gal hob fuge w/ no sump. that flow rate includes power heads, skimmer and fuge.
