Tansu inspired mixed reef & Haddoni:Clown setup

Thanks Lawrence! That's too bad that he had to go through all that but very glad it worked out for him. Hope it works out in the end for me too, at least I didn't give up yet.

fantastic news that you have another tank on the way!, the cabinet work and your efforts deserve to be realised as you want it.
I 100% agree with your attitude and admire your patience, cant wait for this thread to continue from where you left it.

Good to hear the build is still on. I admire your integrity and patience. Even if you knew 100% the tank was OK to hold water, you still couldn't stand to look at the imperfections. This is especially true when you consider the total beauty of the whole build.

You go girl!!!

Thanks Sara! You have been so nice throughout this, I really hope it pays off in the end.

Not a problem Kathy, I know how trying this hobby can be sometimes! :headwalls:

Congrats on the sale and pick-up of the A.G.E. and I can't wait for you to get the Elos and finish this build!!!

Congrats Kathy,if you need any type of help just give me a call,I hope you finally get your system in the right track and get it running this year.

Best wishes.

That is fantastic you can now move forward. This build has been an inspiration to me from the start. I really like your design ideas and I am very happy to see you will end up with the final product you set out to build.

Nice to hear you are going along with Elos for the tank, you won't regret it ....Jesses' level of customer service is second to none !

:bum:

IMO you are way over thinking the tiny bubbles in the seal on the tank. There is still plenty of seal and bond on the tank. I am no expert but have done some DIY stuff that had me siliconing glass to glass and glass to acrylic there was some bubbles and the seal held up no problem. If the builder is stand up on the quality you are fine. If you are still unsure then just have it resealed and explain you want no bubbles in the seal. Dont just sell a perfectly good tank. You have a great build going on dont get discouraged, keep moving forward.

d3three, spriofucci Mark, Sara, Gus, Nathan, Boozeman, and Greg, thank you all for your posts! It's really nice to hear and I'm so glad to go ahead and continue.

allsps40: I understand what you are pointing out and I appreciate it. The one thing I've learned as I've gotten older is that I should listen to my gut. As I filled the tank, something was so strong that just made me stop filling about 3/4 of the way and walk away for a while. That gut feeling was telling me that I would not be satisfied the way it was. I would have regretted it if I had kept going, and that I definitely would not have enjoyed the setup with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction after it was completed.

So, I won't know if it would have turned out okay or not in the end. But based on past experience(s), I say I did the right thing and it was a very expensive decision.

1 month bump!
just checking to see how things are going?
just ensuring that the old tank sold, and wondering if you ever decided on the new tank builder? and the status.

Thanks!

Wow that is a gorgeous setup!! I hope all goes well with getting a new tank it will turn out to be a living piece of art I am sure once filled!

Thank you my friend! Ahhh, it's good to have connection again. We were affected by the storm so just got everything back to 100%.

Old tank has gone to a new home, thank you for asking! New tank is now curing in Italy......I had a nice talk with Jesse and went ahead with Elos. It *should* be done curing in about 20 days or so depending on the weather.

jstuver: Thank you! I hope so too.

ELOS.... OOOHHHH AAAAHHH
i have seen a few ELOS builds, and i would have to say they are impressive... (but i have no personal experience or on hands views of one.....)

Is the elos tank going to be drilled for your current Closed loop setup? that way you dont have to change your plumbing.... (i know how long it took to get it where you wanted it)
just curious?
and did they say anything about drilling all the holes for you?

Glad to have you "connected" again.
cant wait!
My B-day is on the 19th of august.... it would be great to see some pictures by then! :)

I've seen some too. I remember coming across Boozeman's thread a while back and yes, I think they are so good looking.

Yes! The tank will be drilled, but differently based on their suggestions. So yep, my plumbing will change but I'm hoping not too much. I don't want to wear that mask again for too long. ;)

Well then, I will definitely mark that date of August 19th! :)

:D Hello my friend!

I was thinking about you a couple of weeks ago, because I remembered your birthday. I was hoping to have at least some news to share, but the only thing that has happened is the room was painted since the tank wasn't there and I took advantage of that.

It's still on the boat from Italy I'm guessing, and I expect to hear any day now that it's arrived. I've been going back and forth about hiring movers or getting some friends. I think I'm going to hire movers- safety first! I can't believe how long this build has taken, I'm so embarrassed!

How was your birthday? I hope it went well.

Good B-day! and things are good.
Dont worry about taking too long. just dont start rushing.... i know you dont want to do too much too fast and regret it after taking soooo much time to do thing right.

Im sure all the E-quakes arnt helping anything...... so at least when you get the tanks... the seals will have had plenty of time to set, and you wont have to wait weeks when before filling.

just dont suck in too many plumbing fumes when you start finishing things.
(but when you get the tanks in place, it would be cool to see some pictures... i miss all the fancy wood and sculptures and pictures.... its amazing looking... it just needs some glass in it again)

Hi Sugartooth,

I've really enjoyed your build thread. You must be commended for you perseverance and attention to detail. I agree w/the others, you've put so much time and effort into your "dream tank", you shouldn't have to settle.

By the way, don't feel embarrassed for a long build...my 450 has been a 2 year journey. ;)
