Just a quick update....
The tank is a week shy of being 4 months old. Tonight I finally hooked up my 2 Phosban Reactors....1 with carbon and the other with GFO. Only losses to report in the first 4 months is the ORA Green Birdsnest......not sure what happened to it, but it doesn't look good and is about 90% dead. All other corals are doing great and growing at what I assume to be a normal rate. I finally got around to lifting my Lumenbrights up to a good height for my 20" tall tank. They now sit about 17" from the bottom of the reflector to the top of the tank....which is the same as 12" from the bottom of the reflector to the top of the tank on a standard 90g or 180g tank. Corals that were browning a bit have started to color up nicely again since moving the reflectors up. I finally got my own refractometer and found out that my salinity has been running low at around 1.023. I plan on adjusting up to 1.025 with my next water change. I'm still dosing vodka, but I'm up to a dose of 5ml/day. I'm still dosing Vitamin C as well and that is at a dose of 1tsp/ twice a day. I'm still having an issue with hair algae in the teeth of my overflow.(That's the reason for me adding the GFO) My nitrates and phosphates always test 0, but I know that can be used by the algae on the overflows and the chaeto in my refugium. I am going to start dosing magnesium on my tank also since it has been running low as well....hopefully raising my salinity will help with that too. I will try to post some pictures within the next week after my next water change and thorough tank cleaning.
