I never put my hands in the tank without my gloves on. I use the Coralife Aqua gloves that go almost all the way up to my armpit. They are a nice heavy material and I don't think they would ever tear open. If I have delicate work to do I use hemostats because it is tough to pickup small things with the gloves on.

I have those gloves, too - highly recommended. My 2 year old calls them my "supa-dupa" gloves.
